    Excellent for delivery!

I've eaten dinner at this place once or twice and it's been awesome. But the ordering in is a breeze with the pleasant staff. I pay with a credit card and its not the huffy puffy weirdness i get when i order from Catherines' cafe. The food is awesome, non-veg people will totally enjoy all of this comfort food. The Willy Bobo (Cuban Sandwhich) is one of my favorites.. also note, ordering in soda will be from the fountain, not canned, so yeah..

    Yum

I'm not vegetarian and had always avoided vegetarian food that tries to taste like meat. I went here and it was amazing! It tastes so good, not because it tastes like meat - it's just good food. The collard green rolls were really great.

    from a meateater's eyes

As a meat lover, and someone who is definitely not inclined towards the vegan/vegetarian options, i've gotta say red bamboo makes for some tasty eating. it can get pretty crowded, so sometimes service can real slow, but if you're lucky you can get an outside table and drink one of their (albeit overpriced) fancy fruit cocktails while you wait. and the soul-chicken sandwich (soy chicken i think) takes care of my needs for something hardy. . . i'd definitely recommend it if you're not looking to eat lamb or anything else meaty from the surrounding restaurants

    yummy

i just have to say to those of you that are veggie and like fake meat stuff this place rules, on the other hand, if you don't like fake meat, well then this isn't your place, so to the person who wrote "not recommended" as their title, i think it unfair for you to give a bad review to a restaurant that just doesn't suit your needs, at no fault of the restaurant..

    Bad Service

Food is okay and the idea behind the restaurant is nice but the service leaves a LOT to be desired. My food was brought out after everyone else was served. A side order of mac and cheese was burnt, not overcooked, but actually burnt. Then the waiter never even bothered to replace it or offer something else in its place. On top of everything, when we got the bill my uneaten mac and cheese was included!

    go veg

The whole point is that to serve ersatz meat. Not amazing but consistently good. Quick delivery; good atmosphere.

    Not recommended

What a disappointment the food is. We have tried eating here a couple of times and have found the food bland with little or no flavor. We have been vegetarians for years and don't really like eating vege food which tastes like meat and the offerings at Red Bamboo that don't taste like meat are few. Tried the portabello/pesto sandwich, did not see or taste any pesto, the roll fell apart with the first bite.
