Avoid
Avocado salad is a disgrace; couscous dishes (we tried 2 of the list) are as poor as they can be; ME burger not worth a comment (poor kids!). Not cheap too.

Inconsistent quality, unsatisfying
The quality of the food in this restuarant varies plenty from dish to dish, and the average is below standards; The chicken salad is ok, but most of the entrees are overpriced given the proportions of meat to couscous or filling stuff. The Koufka Ground Beef stewer comes with 5 diminutive pieces of bland and overcooked meet, the rest (3/4th of the dish) is couscous. The meatballs are very greasy - The fries also very greasy and limp. All in all, overpriced given the ingredients of the dishes; unrewarding meals. We will not order again.

Stuffed
I can't even begin to explain how much we consumed. Everything was amazing. I recently tried another new restaurant on the UES but returned to Rectangles. They are the original and still the best. The chicken soup and melawach are amoung my favorites. Get to know the owner he always takes care of me. The only kosher restaurant with character.

The Best Israeli Food in Town!!
I've read all the reviews and had to try it for myself. As authentic as it gets. This is my 3rd visit there in the last 2 weeks. I only eat kosher and consider myself and expert on Israeli food. I have nothing but compliments to say about any dish on thier menu. Everything is fresh, the waitress was very helpful. (cute too - for all you single men out there). Their hummus and schnitzel awesome. They are moderately priced. But if cheap is what you are looking for stay downtown or go to a pushcart. Beautiful decor and a full bar. Don't forget to order the melawach, it's a yemenite bread served with hot sauce, tomato sauce and an egg. Great Food.

Lazy and poor attempt at Israeli food
I love Israeli food and couldnt be more disappointed. The lamb kabob was so chewy it was almost inedible. The white bean soup was watery. The stuffed cabbage was tasteless, and fell apart. The chicken shwarma was just ok, but cold. Fries were soggy - and nothing came with homous.

Not Israeli food
The falafel is great - one of the best in NY. The Humus and Tehini are O.K. However, that's about it. I know Israeli food and it should be full of flavor. The food in this restaurant is nothing but tasteless.

A Taste of Israel in New York
The authenticity and quality of the cuisine was very good. Having had many meals in Israel and growing up eating middle eastern food i was very surprised at the accurate flavor profiles. The quality of the ingredients was superior. Overall it was an A+.
