    Disappointment is an understatement...

I had walked by this place several times and was exited to check it out because there always seems to be quite a few people. I went in on a Sunday. It took over an hour to get a burger and a salad plus the waiter never offered new drinks. I am a fair patron, but this place was rediculous - Save yourself time, $$, and frustration and grab a burger and beer at your local Irish Pub. (PS the tab was $55.00 for 2 beers, a burger & a salad)

    What's the rush?

I have been to Rare on 3 occasions. The burgers are pretty good, many options and good sauces. Basically it is a middle-of-the-road hotel bar that serves burgers. No atmosphere to speak of. The burgers do not compare to the great NY burger palaces like Corner Bistro, JG Melon, Wollensky's Grill, 21 Club, etc..... If you are a tourist, or local resident, then it serves a purpose, but definitely not a destination spot. The owner/manager is a real jerk who rushes people and service without any cause, and mistreats his staff. The roof bar is worth the visit if you can deal with overbearing bouncers, but you cannot order food to the roof and the roof bar (Rare View)has a different entrance than Rare.

    Chronic Burger

Hands down best burger I have ever had. Hickory smoked bacon was ridic and headdie. I am going to start going once a week to make my life that much better.

    Amazing Food and Great Atmosphere

My friends and I enjoyed our experience at Rare last night. The burgers were wonderful and definitely lived up to all expectations. The owner was accommodating and did everything to make our time enjoyable. Our waiter was incredibly friendly (and handsome!) I would definitely recommend this place to anyone especially because I would go back anytime.

    Hit the Spot

They serve some good burgers here. I mean, really good; easily one of the best I've ever had. It was perfectly cooked, juicy and tender. I didn't care for the cottage fries, which were heavily seasoned and - by my definition - waffle as opposed to cottage fries. The price for toppings is a bit exohbinant at $1.50 per, but that's the price you pay for perfection.

    Happy Customer

I have returned to Rare many times and have enjoyed consistently delicious meals. The burger are always great but I've also explored their daily specials and have been impressed with the quality and variety! The fries basket is a real treat too.
