Not best but not worst
Been craving a burger for a while so I went to Rare last night after seeing mostly positive reviews on Menupages. Decor of the place was decent with its red accents and dark furniture. Service was good too. Waitress was attentive and checked on you after receiving your meal to make sure everything is going well. Hostess also mentioned to me that they have a rooftop area that's enclosed and heated for cold days but I decided to dine in the inner area. As for the burger, it was not the best but not the worst I ever had. I don’t eat beef so got the turkey burger which comes with a horseradish mayo and for extra $1.50 each I also got the smoked cheddar and caramelized onions to go along with it. Also had a side of regular fries which comes with three complimentary dipping sauces (Mexican chili ketchup (which tasted like regular ketchup), bbq sauce and chipotle aioli). I didn’t order a drink and the total came up to about $20 so not the cheapest place to get a burger. I thought the burger itself lacked seasoning. Had to slather on a lot of the sauces to give it flavor. Fries are the skinny kind but they were okay. Maybe the beef burgers are tastier but overall may not go their again since didn’t think it was anything special.

Awesome Cowboy Ribeye!
I play tennis nearby and often go for a burger. The burgers are good, not great, and they are not always done to the wellness requested. The onion rings are very good. However, the Cowboy ribeye is awesome. I would say it competes with all the steakhouses in NY I've eaten in. I have had it twice and felt the same way both times.

Pass
Went there twice recently; once for lunch and once for dinner. While the space is very nice looking, that's about all this place has going for it. Mediocre burger came undercooked, then overcooked. White napkins all over me. With too many other choices in the city, I'd pass

Good location, OK Service, but incredibly overpriced
This is the latest outpost of the local chain of burger joints. The atmosphere and decor are a upscale for a burger joint and, as you can see from the menu, the prices are as well. $15 gets you a burger w/o any fries or a side. That'll cost you another $5. Before you know it, you've spent $30 on a burger, fries and drink. In a city full of great burger choices, I can't imagine choosing to come here to get ripped off. To be fair, the fries are good and the burger is juicy. Not worth the price of admission though.

Really good food
We had a great time. Excellent burgers and appetizers. Loved the chopped shrimp salad. Good selection of beers and cocktails. Nice addition to the hood.
