YUM!!
don't know what the guy below is whining about, i just ate here and it was great! the burgers were cooked perfectly! and how can you complain about a place that has 3 different kinds of bacon? there are no frills or gimmicks, just good food! our waiter was amazing! the whole thing was just a great experiance! oh and the fry basket with the dipping sauses is a must!

Very Disappointing
I’ve eaten at the other location before (which is great) and was looking forward to trying one of the steakhouse burgers here. For $21 + tax, I have to say the burger was definitely not worth it. The “Rare's Ribeye” had the mildest of flavor and was probably about 6 oz. at most. I asked for it medium rare and received it medium-well to well. I rarely send food back, but had to in this case - $21 for an overdone hunk of char?!!! Obviously the cook took offence to this, as he sent out a bloody, RARE burger. However, that was a lot more palatable than the hockey puck I’d sent back previously. Other than the hideously overpriced, low quality “steakhouse” burger, I have to mention that our server was great (she had no problem sending the burger back – maybe used to it?) and the French Fry Tasting Basket, accompanied by numerous dipping sauces, was quite good. If you are thinking about a burger at this place, save some money by getting a regular bar burger at ½ the price or go to the other location in midtown. The best alternative for a steakhouse burger would be to go a real steakhouse and pay the same price for a far superior burger.

good burger
Good burger, not great. $15 got me a sizable meat pattie with cheese, bacon and carmelized onions. this was a knife and fork burger. unless you're a muppet, I can't see how you could fit this into your mouth otherwise. I asked for rare and got medium rare and meat that was room temperature. Basket of fries was more like a bucket and delicious. Wine list was decent and reasonably priced. Our waitor was great, but the clearing staff kept trying to take away half eaten plates of food that we were obviously still eating. I'm docking an extra star because of the horrendous live "musician" that insisted on screeching throughout dinner.

Yummy Fries
I have been here twice but I have yet to actually eat a meal or have a burger..but when I do I am going to have one of those expensive fancy burgers because they sound yummy! I have had some drinks there..which were overpriced...$6 for a PBR? But its a great location & nice place to relax and have a drink. During that trip I tried the onion rings (my bf was eating dinner so I sampled his) and they were good. The next time I was at the bar...again good service nice atmosphere...and I had the fry basket..don't ask me why because anyone in their right mind should not be eating a basket of 3 kinds of fries...but we tried it. It was SO good they give you all these sauces but I'm a ketchup person...regular string fries, waffle fries (my fave), and sweet potato fries (which was the whole reason we were there eating fries)..and it was really yummy..$10 but you get a TON of fries you could easily share it with 5 people! So as I don't think ordering a basket of fries is the best idea...they are really good especially if you are having a drink!

Pricey but good
The prices are insane here (honestly $21 for a burger?), but the food isn't half bad. I wish their fries weren't so skinny, and they should put at least some decent beer and wine on the menu. As it is, highlights include PBR and Coors Light.

Best Burger in NYC
I have been to a lot of burger places in NYC but this place tops them all. I got the rare ribeye, Medium Rare and it was cooked to perfection. One of my friends does not eat meat so she got the Carribean ahi tuna salad. She said is was such high quality and more flavor than any other salad she ever ate. My other friend was not in the mood for a burger so he got the Cowboy ( a 16oz ribeye steak). We shared a French fry tasting basket. My favorite was the sweet potato fries. Overall, between the great accomodating staff and the great food i will be back and would recommend this place to anyone.
