Good intro to Ramen
I went other day and it was my first experience with real Ramen noodles. The curry rice was decent, not as bad as in the review below. The ramen broth was very good. Salty but not overly so. Could have been warmer in temp. The noodles were al dente and toothsome. The pork was perfect. Salty and fatty and meaty. Mmm. A bit overpriced for the amount given, but not a bad way to curb your ramen crave!

The sides distract from the noodles
Having a Japanese wife, I get a bit ramened out every now and again. The upside of most ramen places is that they also serve curry - something I rarely if ever tire of. Unfortunately, Setagaya's curry was so insulting that it ruined the entire experience - even the pretty good noodles and the extra fatty pork. Because Japanese curry comes packed in very convenient bouillon, I accept that places are going to skimp. Curry isn't easy or quick to make, so why bother. But at least doctor it some! Add meat! Add some extra flavor! Don't just heat it with water and potatoes and call it curry. To be fair, the ramen itself was good, not great, but good.

fun and tasty; I'm impressed
Tasty ramen definitely will fill you up; served either in a hot broth, or cold and with a hot dipping sauce. Bits of pork delicious. Worth $10 per plate? You can be the judge, but I'd say yes. Tall wooden tables and a streamed Japanese TV station make for a cool atmosphere. Limited menu, but it's smart to focus on a few good dishes. Service was quick and gracious. I think I'll come back.
