get some decent bread
i agree with other reviewers about the lousy bread. food is ok. reasonable prices. friendly waitstaff

Great Italian viddles!
We go there on a fairly regular basis, and enjoy the food, ambiance and service.

Good but not great
Good italian for the money. Could boost business by having a good quality italian bread. Bread was along the likes of a cheap white Wonder thrift bread.

Best Italian in New York
As a student in the mid 90s Ralph's was my neighborhood hangout. The food was excellent and inexpensive. It was always a friendly place where you might happen on to a magazine staff editing conference on a Sunday afternoon or almost run over one of the well known actors who frequented the place. I'be been back recently and it's the same old neighborhood joint. And the food is even better! How can you go wrong?

The only choice
Ralph's is on an intersection where there is an Italian restaurant on all four corners. With names in psuedo-Italian and big white and red striped decorations. However, simple, understated Ralph's is the best Italian I've had in the city. Why else do you think they'd survive for so many years with so much competition in close proximity. Don't even try the others.

enjoyable meal
There is a reason that Ralph's is in business for so many years......It's terrific. The portions are generous and delicious. The owners are always helpful. My husband and I are never disappointed. You cannot go wrong.

Inexpensive Italian restaurant
The lunch special is $10.95 and includes choice soup or salad and main dish. Food and service is what you usually expect in Italian restaurant. Good value.
