Speakeasy?!? I think not. The black warming vestibule on the sidewalk with the line kind of gave it away. Silly bar. Pretentious door man. Crappy stretch of 17th street trying desperately to pose as a west village underground hideaway. Overpriced drinks that you can get better and cheaper at more genuine bars in the city.

Excellent burbon selection. They make a manhattan like nobody's bizness. A good date place or to impress a group of friends or colleagues. Check out the naked ladies in the bathroom!

It's hard to find, it's a little black door that you ring the doorbell and a man answers the door and lets you in. Upon entering it looks like a very dimly lit library with velvet couches and leather chairs. If you proceed to the back where the bar is it is a little kitchen where the bartenders work right in front of you. The drinks are AMAZING! I don't really like gin, but they don't serve vodka. I got an aviation (egg whites, gin, lemon), bee's knees (gin, honey, lemon) and a gordon's cup (gin, cucumber juice, salt and pepper) - sounds gross, but they were fantastic. Bee's knee's were my favorite. It is a great place to bring a date, before dinner and get a couple of cocktails (they're fairly expensive so be ready)
