We were excited to find a place close to our hotel that we could have a nice sit down meal. Unfortunately, the food at Raffles is only just okay, definitely not worth the price. They do not accept any form of credit card -- a cash only establishment. They are very discourteous and truly could care less whether or not they did a good job or not. All they care about is getting their cash in hand. Avoid at all costs!

Poor all the way around
Stayed at W newyork late night was looking for a bite to eat with my wife, we ordered a special after looking at the over priced menu 18 bucks for 2 eggs and 14 bucks for grilled cheese.... so our waiter suggested lemon chicken and shrimp risotto, the lemon sauce was like pie filling and the risotto was hard as a rock, we told the waiter who didnt speak english that is was horrible and wanted to get something else off the menu, he brought our bill right then and there, didnt even try to offer something else, then we said can we see the manager, he said it was against policy to get us something else that he couldnt just through it out and said we had to pay full price,we didnt even eat the meal, he said it isnt his fault we didnt like it and we could purchase something else...so your policy is to screw the customer and serve undercooked food for a heafty sum of money.. i would not send my enemy to this dump i would advise everyone never to visit that hole, street vender food out on the corner is better and thats what i did i got a hotdog...

Great Service and Good Food
My wife and I were staying at The Barclay Hotel and after a busy day day wanted a lite meal in a clean restaurant with a glass of wine. Raffles Cafe furfilled that desire. Great service, great sandwiches, great salads, great ambiance, ultra clean at a moderate cost for NYC!

What a rip off!
I was initially excited to discover a nice diner style restaurant in midtown east. The food was decent, and service very good. The prices, however, were rdiciuously overpriced. A simple egg white omelette with toast and potatoes was close to $20.00! Are they kidding? STAY AWAY. You can do better just about anywhere else.

overpriced - beware
Staying at the W Hotel so this was closest. Breakfast was ok but beware of additional prices like orange juice and proper coffee's i.e two breakfasts came to $84!

overpriced
This place is way overpriced .I had grilled cheese platter and wife had hamburger platter plus coffee and ice tea.Bill was $42.I had meals at other places less than this. And then to include an automatic tip at set rate was adding insult to injury.
