Expensive Dirty Subpar food Rude waiters Avoid at all costs. Worst place we ate in New York.

I ordered salmon and mashed potatoes. The cost was very high and they had the nerve to service boxed ready made potato flakes. It was not even "real" mashed potatoes. Additionally the salmon was very small and undercooked...

We were staying at the Lexington Hotel which is connected to Raffles. We had a hotel package that included breakfast. Our first breakfast was a disappointment (although the coffee was very good). We both ordered waffles which beside not having any flavor were underdone. When we told the waitress that she immediately brought over the manager who apologized, offered us a free fruit cup to make up for the waffles, and asked us to see her when we came in the next morning. We did that and she and the wait staff went out of their way to make sure we had a satisfying breakfast, which we did. Whatever went wrong with our first breakfast there was more than made up for the following day. That's worth taking the time to write this review.

Just had breakfast at raffles this week. The place is completely renovated and the menu is changed. Food was delicious. Staff was very friendly. I started my day with a smile)) The prices are the cheapest in the neighborhood as just across the street in waldorf astoria you would pay 50 $ for two eggs. Service was great and deserve 18% gratuity. They did a great job. And i will come back there again with pleasure.

I just had breakfast at Raffles after staying a night at the adjacent Radisson Hotel. The food and service were both okay, neither good nor bad. It goes without saying that it's overpiced since it's a hotel cafe. The service is your usual order-taking variety. The annoyance began after the check. First of all an automatic 20% gratuity on a table for one is ridiculous. Conversation at the counter: "I am sorry ma'am we don't accept credit cards.." "Umm, really? Ok, do you have an ATM?" "No, ma'am.." Silence.. "But we have an ATM on the 2nd floor of the hotel" I am already late, I run back thru the hotel, wait for an elevator, find an ATM at the end of the mezzanine. ATM fee is $3.49. Basically another 10% of my check. When I get back I try to find 'Cash only sign. "Excuse me, but where does it say that you don't accept credit cards? "Nowhere, ma'am." Silence "Have a nice day..." Total cost of tea, orange juice, and a bagel with salmon -- $36 Just don't bother...

We were excited to find a place close to our hotel that we could have a nice sit down meal. Unfortunately, the food at Raffles is only just okay, definitely not worth the price. They do not accept any form of credit card -- a cash only establishment. They are very discourteous and truly could care less whether or not they did a good job or not. All they care about is getting their cash in hand. Avoid at all costs!
