The poorest restaurant experience in my entire life
We were sat in a small table next to another couple (literally 5 inches) very close to the kitchen. Every time the waiter was passing by, another kick in the chair was complementary. The food was just ok, and the portions simply ridiculous. We ended up eating again in another restaurant 20 minutes later.

what a find
I had passed by this restaurant by accident when I was taking a different route to my acupunturist; I was intrigued when I saw that they had rabbit on the lunch menu. So last night, I suggested to my friend that we try having dinner there; we were not disappointed. The staff is Italian, very friendly and informative. Most of the clients were Italian speakink, all ways a good sign! One of the staff suggested a different wine when we said that we said that our entrees were the rabbit and the beef; he gave us a sample of our choice and his recommendation and he was right. We shared appetizers - the lentil & cumcumber and asked for the fennel slices baked w/ pecorino - normally a side dish; the lentil salad was slightly bland..drizzling olive oil on it helped but the fennel was wonderful. Our pastas - penne w/ pesto made w/ basil & pistachios and the penne w zucce (pumpkin) were very good. The rabbit and beef dishes were simple but full of favor. We will be going back and recommending this place to friends.

Good on a budget
Two visits so far: one was very pleasing and the other somewhat disappointing. The dishes are authentic Lazio region fare. The pasta is inexpensive, cooked al dente and comes with competently prepared sauces. Though on my second visit the pasta was too salty. Still for $11 I think But frankly it's typical of a a Roman trattoria not to be ver it's a very fair deal. The house wine is nice and inexpensive. The most disappointing part was dessert. Nice relaxed atmosphere. Overall I'm prepared to give this place another chance.

Delicious food, especially the pasta!
I'm so glad I found this place. I had some serious foodie friends in from out of town and I needed to find a good Italian restaurant that they hadn't already tried. Someone recommended this place and it was a great choice. It's an intimate, romantic yet casual little place that seemed to have a lot of repeat customers. We were given a nice table and treated with a lot of attention and care. We had the pasta samplers---3 big family-style bowls of different homemade pastas...so freaking good...and the wine list is very reasonably priced, with a nice selection. It's great to find a place that serves fresh, really tasty food and isn't too expensive. We were so full from the pasta that we didn't get to try any of the main dishes, but that's for next time. We sampled some of the homemade desserts and I really liked the cheesecake...very light, but full of flavor.

lovely all around
i really like this place. for starters, quinto quarto is located on one of the best blocks in all of manhattan (bedford and carmine). the atmosphere is charming and vibrant. i have been twice and both times the wait staff has been incredibly accommodating, friendly and fun. the menu is nothing too special but very good and reasonably priced. they work with large groups and they offer a well priced pasta sampler. the best part is there is no attitude. go for it.

I like this place
I wasn't sure what to expect when I found this place, but I wasn't disappointed. Although a bit on the small side, we were seated very quickly. The staff is friendly and knowledgable about the quisine and the area of Italy that it comes from. They were efficient and professional. My boyfriend ordered the onion soup, which he liked a lot. I had the meat and cheese platter. A nice peccorino-romano cheese which is very sharp and a nice dry sweet sausage. Somehow, I find it hard to believe that this is on a Cracker Barrel menu as both are imported. For our main meals I chose the lamb dish, while he chose a chicken dish. We both liked our meals. I would have preferred pasta to potato, but that's because I'm not a big potato eater. We both had crosata's for desert and found the pastry a bit dry. The wine and expresso were very good. Overall a good experience for us. We went back again and had pasta and again, we liked our meals. I would like to see different art hanging on the walls and maybe more space - which a note to the person who had reservations - most restaurants that take reservations base the amount of reservations they take on each party staying no more than a specific amount of time. When you're exceeding that time and the next reservation comes in, they need the space. Especially in a place with limited space, such as this one.

don't waste your time
My sister and I stopped by for a quick bite and felt lucky to be given a table in this restaurant, which is always full. But, now I would say that I don't know why it's so busy. We just had 2 pasta dishes. One was totally tasteless (with olives and artichokes). I mean totally tasteless. The other was quite ordinary: a penne with pesto, that was no different that anything I could put together myself with a sauce I purchase at local stores.
