Queen Italian Restaurant

Thurs.evening my husband & I had a nostalgic dinner at the Queen. He had many dinners here growing up. We now live in Va & made a trip to his favorite Italian rest. Everything was delicious from the homemade mozzarella caprese to the Italian cheesecake. I ordered my favorite dish chicken breast with peppers, onions ect. Excellent! My husband loved the chicken parm. The pasta was homemade! When we arrived at our hotel I realized I left a shopping bag containing clothing .I called the Queen .They had my bag & promptly mailed it to me. Thank you for a great dinner and for being so helpful!

I have dined at Queen very sporadically over the last 25 years. Since a longtime friend lives close by, we had dinner there last night. He loves it and considers it the best restaurant in the area. He dines there often and is known and welcomed by the staff. What? The house salad was drowned in salty, oily dressing. I ordered the pollo scarpariello- basically chicken with sausage. It looked unappealing- the sauce was so dark it was nearly black- I tasted it- unflavorful, the sausages were like cardboard, the chicken dry as well- it was inedible. I sent it back, while my friend continued eating, of course and got a veal parmigiana- boring but edible. The restaurant was populated by well-dressed diners of both genders, perhaps attorneys since it is close to the Court and Brooklyn government offices, or maybe business people stopping after working across the river, before they return home in Brooklyn Heights. I guess they're happy at Queen. I don't get it. And my advice is, neither should you.

Been eating here for years and am still impressed by the quality and consistency of their menu. Even for the most common Italian dishes like veal marsala with potato croquettes, they are the best I've had, and I've had way too much Italian food in my life.

I have been to Queen twice in the past couple of years. The first time I was severely disappointed. I gave it a second try recently and while the food was marginally better, I will not be back. Out of the 5 dishes my party ordered I would only want to eat one of them again. It's very expensive (compared to other comparable restaurants in the area) and while the restaurant does have a nice sense of history, it's just not that good.

good spaghetti, meatballs were only ok. combination salad was really good - great dressing. garlic bread is good. homemade ravioli is mediocre. and you only get 5 or 6 spread out in a really big dish. i hate that. delivery came quickly... about 15-20 minutes. they could stand to lower their prices a little bit.

I love Italian food...and Queen did not disappoint. Excellent service, from the waiters to their help & the owner coming around to make sure everything is ok not once but three times! I went with my parents, and I ordered Chicken Parmagiana which was excellent, and they got the veal chop & chicken w/ lemon & butter (a franciese like dish) which were both terrific as well....the prices were fair & I would highly recommend this classy Italian restaurant for anyone.

After doing some research, Queen seemed like a solid choice for good old fashioned italian food. I must say the food was an utter dissapointment. The complimentary bread was the highest quality of food served to our table. The baked clams were nothing more than average. Now lets go to the entrees, out of 5 people only 1 person enjoyed their meal. She ordered a generic ravioli dish which was impossible to mess up. My friend went out on a limb and ordered the filet mignon. Word of advise to Queen, leave the steak to the chop houses. I ordered a promising special consisting of pasta and filet mignon. If i knew the filet mignon was going to be comparable to chop meat i would have ordered the pasta bolognese. I have eaten at many high caliber restaurants throughout Brooklyn and Manhattan and im cerntainly not a novice. So as someone consumed with fine dining, Queen is a big no thanks.
