    expensive as portions shrink

as a long time customer of quatorze bis, willing to continue to pay each and every increase due to the convenient location and good food, my last dinner will be my last visit. the portions are shrinking as the prices rise. will no longer be my go to place. portions and price are not equivalent.

Chased by owner and waiters for more tips

Not great food. Service is ok. After leaving good tip were chased by the waiters and the owner whom asked for more tip because this is not Europ and the waiters are paid very low wages ! Very cheap

    Noisy, "special" wasn't

I've been before. Generally good but always noisy. Last night's Quatorze Fish Stew was b-l-a-n-d. Would have changed but this would have taken too long and had to leave the bleachers' sound! Waiters rushed a bit as well. Many other places to go in the future. Too bad, good location and setting.

    Service

So - my friends have just moved to the area and we thought we would check out this place for Sunday brunch. From the minute we walked in we were treated like second class citizens. We had to wait extra time to get any waiters attention, when we finally ordered we watched everyone else receive bread baskets until we finally got ours. I was asked if I would like more coffee and then had to wait 10 mins for a refill. The table next door actually had to shout three times excuse me to get the wait staff attention and then got a free glass of wine and 'I'm sorry for the wait sir" No such luck for us, just a check shoved on the table for our over priced Eggs Benedict. We will NEVER go here again!

    Better than ever

I have been to Quatorze before several times, but after my experience last evening I thought I really had to submit a review. The restaurant is always lovely, and I have never had anything but superior service, but my meal last night was an all time high. I am one of the people left on the planet who likes calves liver, and I had the best liver I have ever had. I am particular about where I order liver because it is so easy to over-cook. This was absolutely perfect. I'll be back sooner than last time.

    Lovely Neighborhood Spot

Quatorze Bis always seems to be bustling with an older (but not old) and respectable looking crowd who seem to be enjoying themselves. Delicious classic French food from the creamy potato and leak soup (oh, so rich!) to the proverbial steak au poivre with frites. This is a great place for brunch, too, as the chef really knows how to make an omelet and it's also lovely for a drink by the bar even if you're not eating. It has the feel of someplace that would offer a great souffle or decadent chocolate cake for dessert and we were disappointed to find it didn't. But otherwise, it's a little touch of expensive civility in the city.
