best organic pasta ever!
the gnocchi with pesto were awesome! i love the wood burning fireplace at the bar: so romantic. The bar finger food is excellent and you can ask for as much you want. i am a model and when i need to loose a few pounds I eat at quartino: you actually eat pasta and lose weight. It's great. I also had a 25 people birthday party in the winter garden, we played our ipods and had so much fun!

Authentic!
This place transports a true Roman Trattoria to New York. The food is very authentic, and actually might sometimes disappoint Americans incorrectly believe that real Italian cuisine is greasy and covered with cheese and sauce. The $14.50 lunch is the best deal in the city. Sounds to me that the two prior negative reviews (same party) were a group of demanding, obnoxious Americans. BTW, they do accept credit cards.

Very disappointing in the end
We were a group of six that had a very nice very expensive eneing here. The waitress seemed to take pleasure in refusing some of our requests and she never offered a smile. At the end of the meal, we did not realize that the tip was included. We left 114.00 over the proce of the check and none of the waitstaff said a word. If you leave 20 or 30 dollars extra, it can be understood that the waitstaff could assume it was an extra tip but to get over 100.00 extra and not mention that tip was included was just wrong. We tried to rectify it the next day and they denied that so much money was left. This is a cash only restaurant so we had no proof but becasue of our tight budget, we know exactly how much we spend.

Grood food but in the end, disappointing experience
This is a restaurant with high quality food that is quite good but be ready because the customer is clearly not always right here. We were a party of six professional, nice people who were spending a lot of money. By the end of a great night we paid and did not realize that they included the tip. When we paid over 100.00 above the 20%tip they had already added, it would have been nice if the waiter had made sure we knew the tip was included. The next day when we called and said there was a mistake by over 100.00 dollars the staff reported that we only overpaid by $40.00 and the owner said there was nothing they could do. So be warned.

Vegetarian Italian but not suitable for Vegans?
My husband (meat eater) chose this restaurant for me (vegan) for our anniversary, thinking that if it's a vegetarian italian place, it could be custom-made for vegans. But none of their pastas or bread were without eggs! I had to pay a lot of money for a bland risotto! m m not happy
