Excellent all-round meal
My party of 4 big eaters went to Quality Meats, and we all left very satisfied. Other posts have stated mixed reviews about the service. Our service was excellent - very friendly and attentive but not intrusive or pushy. Our waitress and servers were all terrific. We started out with a seafood platter (more like a boat) prepared and suggested by our waitress which included stone crabs that were enormous and rivaled Joe's (growing up in Miami, I know what it says to make that comparison), shrimp, lobster and crab meat. The sauces were interesting and delicious. The 4 of us then split the Butcher's Cut rib eye for two and the lamb for two. Our food server carved up the meat just next to our table and gave all of us separate plates with lamb and steak. The steak was solid - everything you'd expect. The lamb was surprisingly better, and we all agreed that it stole the show. We had the corn creme brulee, grits and cheese, gnocchi and crispy potatoes as sides. All were great, but the potatoes and creme brulee excelled. For desert we had an excellent banana cream pie and very interesting chocolate mint chocolate chip ice cream which was better than your average ice cream parlor. The bread and table-made steak sauce were also both outstanding. It was a big meal, and we were all thoroughly satisfied, which is saying something for this group. The bill was high to be sure, but nothing about the dinner, the service or the cool atmosphere was not worth it.

Excellent Service
Service was perfect. The waitress and her staff were very knowledgeable and helpful in selecting the right dishes. Drinks were always full and there was a good time transition between each course. In addition, the food is delicious. Portions are a good size, as you do not have to feel engorged when leaving but pleasantly full.

Good food, but the service was lacking
Good food but the service was lacking. It took about 10-15 minutes after ordered our bottle of wine for it to arrive at the table. Another 15 minutes to get our check at the end of the meal. The steaks are great, the spinach a bit bland, but overall the food was good. The crab and shrimp appetizers were outstanding.

Great Food, Great Service
Quality Meats was probably the best steakhouse my wife and I have been to in Manhattan...and we have been to most of them. From the generous scotch on the rocks, to the phenomenal bread, excellent ceasar salad (the lettuce was exceptionally crisp and dressing very flavorful and big enough to split), the corn creme brulee which was original and delicious and the perfectly cooked bone-in ribeyes. The atmosphere was great (and not too loud as described in other reviews); presentation was top notch (much more upscale downtown restaurant than midtown steakhouse) and service was impecabble (I believe a gentleman named Lance was our waiter). We were so stuffed by the end of dinner that we didn't partake in what looked like an incredible dessert menu. This place may be expensive, but the food is worth it--highly recommended!

Great Steak, but the Fish was not good
This place has a great atmosphere. The steak was exactly what one would expect from a New York Steakhouse. The side of onions were wonderful. But the fish was actually not very good at all.. It was VERY dry, and I am not sure why they would ever advertise as a Seafood, Steak House.

Gone downhill!
This would be my second time attending this modern steakhouse. The first time (close to opening) was far better and much more appelaing in all aspects. Some of the dishes i still love like the side onions and the bread is amazing but the staff seems like they did not want to be there. Even the gentelman who opened our wine was less than pleased to do so. The Maitre'D or Gentelman at the door was far less comforting than the woman who was there the last time we went. She was very genuine and made my friends feel at home in this crazy New York atmosphere. I would still recomend giving it a shot even if just for the ice cream..it is perfect.

Outstanding
This is the future of steakhouses... Bring the women back to the table with the new takes on traditional side dishes and enjoy the steak.
