If only I were a diva

I too would have a complaint with this place. Its been months, and I still have dreams of the beef tartare. The service, I did remember as efficient and friendly, but it was quite welcomed. This place is a little pricey, but it is worth every penny.

    excellent

The bone marrow and tuna le bernadin are to die for. I personally think the sirloin steak is the best item on the menu but the rib eye was pretty damn good also.Desserts are out of this world you must order the blueberry tart.

Food great - Evening staff not so much

Food is great. Lunch staff is terrific. But beware ..... evening staff leaves much to be desired.

    Fabulous

Filet Mignon melts in your mouth, Humongous crab cake the best I've ever had, pulled pork totally yummy, the puffy breads they put on the table are soooooooo fresh. Yes, we eat there a LOT. Staff is courteous and right there when you need them. All around a really wonderful restaurant experience.

    Great Date Spot

Just got back from dinner. I had the beet salad to start - very fresh and tasty. We had the gnocchi as a starter -- awesome, almost like a mac and cheese. Both of our steaks were cooked just right. They even decorated my fiance's dessert for her birthday and brought us complimentary champagne. I would recommend this place if you're looking for a fun upscale evening. Can't wait to go back.

everything is good, service might be too casual...

I went two weeks ago to celebrate an anniversary. The food was good, and the ambiance-better. The restuarant is beautiful overall-very romantic. The best value dish in the whole restaurant is the marrow appetizer- you must get it-it is only $9 and good. they give you two pieces of marrow that is chock-full, and ample amount of accoutrements, and the taste is as good as bone marrow gets. We also ordered the scallop, and hamachi appetizers, which were around $15, but not nearly as good as the marrow. I ordered the lobster cocktail as an entree, bc I'm pretty dainty eater, and because the restuarant only offers lobster by 4 lb increments with a two person minimum- it was okay, what more could you ask for from a lobster cocktail? it was not pricey- i was expecting only tail for that price, but surprised that I got the whole lobster. My date had the bone in rib eye- and it was as tasty as it was aesthetically pleasing. The long rib bone was left in and neatly frenched. The meat was tender and seasoned just right. Wine selection was good. They came over to make some sort of tableside steak sauce-which ended up a bizarre concoction of what tasted like raw canned tomatoes and worcheshire sauce-they might need to work on that a little more. The whole meal, with a couple drinks, and glasses of wine was about $300 for two including tip. Someone mentioned that the servers referred to them as 'hey guys' and they didn't know quite how to feel about it. I laughed when i read that, because I too thought that the service was oddly too casual for such a high end establishment. One of the many waitresses who served us that night, at one point of the evening told me to pick up the rib eye bone and suck on it.

    Best Steak in Town

Quality is hands down the best steakhouse that I have been to in NYC. The green goddess salad, cheese gnocchi are to die for! I always order the filet, medium rare and it melts in your mouth. The service is always impeccable. It is pricey, but worth every penny. Whenever my friend and I have a bit of extra cash or want to treat ourselves, this is where we go. I have been to Luger's and Dylan Prime and wasn't anywhere near as satisfied. Love the decor as well!
