    Best Greek in NYC

The entire meal was spectacutlar, as was the service. We had a grilled whole dorado with potatoes and salad. Spectacular. Absolutely much better quality than many of the pricier, overrated greek restaurants in the city. Very friendly waitress who has been with this place for years said it took the owner a year to find a fish vendor he liked that delivers fresh every day. It was worth the wait - so fresh and wonderfully prepared. Cannot wait to go back.

    AMAZING

The Horiatiki salad can't be beat, the Braised Lamb Shanks are to die for...I can't list everything I've eaten here, but I can say it's all AMAZING. The ceramic pots hanging on the ceiling really add ambiance and the noise level never gets too high, which is a rarity in the East Village.

    Nice but SLOW service

I went here today with my mother and overall had a pleasant experience. The food was EXCELLENT but it came VERY slow, though our waiter was friendly. We shared and appetizer and each had a small entree, so I was surprised to see the bill was close to $50, without any drinks. That was disappointing but the delicious food made up for the slow service and overpriced meal.

    So Good!

I love Greek food and now love it even more after my experience at Pylos. My friend and I shared a combination of appetizers and then had delicious salads which were the perfect combination. The pita, the bread, the saganaki, the wine- everything was superb. YUMM!

Had another wonderful meal at this Greek treasure. From the amazing pita, and dips to the tender lamb. If you crave Greek food, don't miss this one.

    Great experience!

I recently had a bachelorette party of 7 here and the overall experience at pylos was amazing. our waiter was very attentive and table service was top notch. the triple dips and beet appetizer were tasty followed by my favorite-duck. tender and perfectly cooked. this was a great place for our large group.

The best Greek Food in Manhattan

Coming from a Greek family I'm a big critic of Greek restaurants. Pylos is by far the best Greek restaurant in Manhattan. The fish is very fresh and the side dishes are amazing. I've lived on Greek food all my life and this place reminds me of my mother's home cooking. True it is a bit cramped but the food is well worth it.
