i'm a meat-eater & i didn't realize this was a vegetarian place. so i'm biased, but didnt like the food too much. the chicken nuggetes tasted like dough.

Pukk made me realize I could become a vegetarian

Biggest meat-eater ever here. I had been to a few vegetarian restaurants over the years and have really disliked them. So imagine how amazed I was with Pukk -- unbelievable tasty and satisfying. The "duck" dishes, both the app and the entree, are truly exceptional. The service is no-nonsense (and no that is not code for rude -- I just don't like fake servers that think I need to have my butt kissed like some reviewers here!) and efficient. I can understand how some might not be into the atmosphere, but I like it fine.

    would not go back

Visiting NYC and trying out vegetarian restaurants, and Pukk (I called it Puke) was definatley the low point. Service was no good. The waiter never smiled, never said hello, and left in the middle of taking my order...came back a few minutes later to finish, and then left again right as we were about to order drinks! Food was so so, but because I felt like I was eating in a subway, it seemed to taste even worse. I would have had a better Thai meal if I had just gone to an ordinary Thai restaurant and ordered everything without meat.

go somewhere else to get your thai fix

the service was so poor! we called ahead and had told them there was 4 of us and they said no problem there was no wait. 20 minutes later there was an hour wait. no problem, patience is a virtue. we waited the hour and then guess what? a "reservation" shows up and they tells us it's going to be an extra 30 minutes. so waited that out too - turned out to be 40. by the time we sat down we were near starvation, so everything looked good. spinach toast was quite excellent, but the other appetizers my party ordered were definitely sub par. as far as the entrees went, our food was cold and when my boyfriend ordered "not spicy" his curry still came out mildly spicy. we had to send it back and wait an extra 30 minutes for his food to re-appear this time, correctly not spiced. the atmosphere was alright. you can tell from outside that it's a bit crowded, so you already know what you're getting into. i liked the ambiance of the restaurant - what was the lacking was the food and the service. the value was alright as far as vegetarian/vegan food goes. if you're going to get asian veggie food, a couple places i would HIGHLY recommend are wild ginger or the vegetarian dim sum place in chinatown.

    A great find!

My girlfriend and I ate here tonight, after finding it just by luck. (It's easy to miss.) We're both vegetarians. The coconut soup and the appetizer.. (I forgot the name of it) were incredible. Then the main courses came and we couldn't stop eating! When it was all done, the bill came to under 30 bucks.

    Much better than its name!

Our favorites are the Pepper Garlic Chicken, Golden Mushroom, and Red Pineapple Curry. As much as my boyfriend and I try to limit what we order, we can't help but also get the mushroom puffs (so good and the best vinegar sweet sauce) and the coconut mushroom soup which has the perfect blend of tanginess and creaminess. We used to go to Klong (also pretty good, but more greasy-type food) but the Klong puff appetizer are made with chicken which we didn't find out until after about half a year of stuffing ourselves with them. And the other nice thing about Pukk is that they deliver so quickly. They usually get to our place 10-15 minutes after we order. We pukk'n love that place.

    Great Place, Yes It's Vegetarian

Great, cheap lunch special. Totally vegetarian. Reviewer below probably didn't even notice. On menu it says "chicken" "beef" etc... but it's wheat meat and tofu imitations. Most people can't tell the difference. Atmosphere is cool enough, I'd recommend it.
