Great brick-oven pizza
As a fan of totonno in co. isl, I am fussy bout my pizza, but you all know they're closed for fire repairs. So while at the feast last week, we tried Puglia's Prosuito and tomato pizza, and we loved it. Their oven is a sight to behold, and the crust was nearly the best I've ever had. Man hattan prices are high, but they have to be, the over there, and real taxes are very high. But it's fun to be there, and worth it.

Wonderful Time, Thank You!
My husband and daughter and I were at Puglia Resturant on Friday evening 9/18/09 during the San Gennaro festival. We had a wonderful time! The food was very good and the entertainment was wonderful! We will be back again!

Very poor service
The service was poor from a 45 minute wait to order to no bread or water refills. Also the dinner came out 2 minutes after we received our appetizers. The waiter totally ignored us and management would not put on the air conditioner even though it was 85 degrees out. Also, the bathroom was filthy.

Great for Groups
I went for my 23rd bday dinner with a big group of friends. The food is very reasonably priced and the house wine is delicious and $15/bottle. You def don't go there for the decor, but the atmosphere is fun. There's live music (a crazy keyboard player) and you will def get up and dance. The only thing I didn't like was the hat passed around after his performance for tips. Other than that, perfect for a cheap bite at the beginning of the night.

Should have known better than to go in!
Were in NYC last week, and wanted "wood-fired brick oven" pizza that we heard NYC was famous for. Puglias had a sign out front that said they had just that. We had a group of nine, so we were trying to be accomodating to everyone. We went inside and saw the long tables, and figured they were used to crowds. But then we thought, "It's 12 noonwhere are the crowds?" Yeahthat should have been our first big red flag.

Poor Service, Mediocre Food
My parents were in town and wanted to go to Little Italy for the San Gennaro Feast. We walked up and down the crowded streets and finally settled with Puglia since it was the only place that had a table for 6. I am originally from Italy and so if my Family from the region of Puglia so I thought it would be fitting. The menu is nothing special they have no specialty plates just basic "Parmigiana" Dishes and other typical Italian/American plates. Don't go there if like me you enjoy authentic Italian food because you won’t find it. Food was ok nothing to be exited about. The service was absolutely subpar! The waited had no idea what Capocollo was. When we asked him about pizza toppings and if we could add arugola, he replied: "That’s what capocollo is..Its greens" (it’s a meat similar to prosciutto). After that he was just rude and we had to ask him for everything including napkins and plates when he specifically knew 2 people were sharing food. We got the pizza (nothing special once again) and they put Broccoli instead of arugola. The waited apologized for the mistake and told us he would take care of it. He came back not even 5min later with the same pizza and told us he had picked most of the broccoli off (still no arugola and tons of broccolis). He left the pizza on the table. We had to flag him down to get him to take the pizza back since it clearly wasn’t what we ordered... I have never had such bad and unprofessional service. I have high expectations of Italian restaurants being from Italy but that’s no excuse for horrible service so I wouldn’t recommend Puglia to anybody.
