What happened to this place
The food used to be great here, what happened??? I used to come here all the time and have been 3 times in the past month and have been disappointed every time. 3 times is the limit.

Food avg at best boring overpriced.
My co-workers and I have been to many places in the city, this place is just not good especially for the prices. To be honest the bar scene is not even that good and neither was the food. The service wasn't rude just extremely slow and incompetent to the point where it became annoying. The food was decent at best, things were hot but not that good for the price. Overall a waste of time and money i would probably never go back unless someone insisted and then try to persuade them otherwise

just raised their prices
they just raised their prices recently on several of their food items - bad move during these economic times. place is kind of weird - very frat/sorority type of crowd, service with an attitude...

a joke
if you are thinking of a private party, this is what the coordinator will send you: Gentlemen! Please be advised of the following: -NO Hats/Caps of any kind -NO Timberland/Construction Boots -NO Tee Shirts! If you are wearing a tee shirt it MUST be accompanied by a jacket or blazer. -NO Sweats or Jerseys of any kind (Except for game watches) -NO Sunglasses -Sneakers and Jeans are OK as long as they are fashionable (IE: Diesel, Lacoste) so they are basically saying they are better than nobu, because i ate at nobu last night, walked in with banana republic jeans, and a t-shirt and sunglasses. public house is a joke. stay away!

Good Food, but Poor Service
This place has potential....if it only had better service. Our waitress forgot one of our appetizers, then I had to ask for her to take our order b/c after 25 minutes or so she still hadn't bothered to come take it. Then she delivered our dessert with no utensils, and we had none left after our sandwiches and entrees were cleared. We couldn't find her for several minutes and ended up asking someone else to bring us spoons.

Great Place, not great service
Public house food and atmosphere is great, but the service is not. Have been there twice in the last two weeks and it seems the wait staff would rather hang out than attend their tables. Hopefully managament can get this fixed.

why do people like this place?
food was almost ok. service tried hard, but couldn't get it right. atmosphere was lacking & it's in a part of nyc that i don't need to visit. i can't imagine who's giving these glowing reviews.
