9 dollars for one peice of asparagus
this place has nerve if not much else. so cramped its hard to relax wouldnt have minded that so much if the rest of the experience was enjoyable. was told this place was amazing by a waiter in a place we were having drinks prior. how i wish we had stayed there. artichoke good but beets roasted served with aoli were not roasted and smothered in mayo, unappetizing. as mentioned asparagus was one why the menu even bothered to mention it is beyond me . are they pulling our legs? with flavorless beans and tomato, pointless. steak so fatty to begin with the butter just made it a greasy mess. desserts good but if we hadnt have been with out of town guest i would have preferred to get the heck out of there.

Amazing Brunch
Just had a fabulous brunch at Prune. We had to wait about 45 minutes because they don't take reservations for brunch but it was well worth it. We had the oysters with sausage, the oyster omelet, and the pancake. I also had a bloody mary that was one of the best that I have ever had. I was very impressed with the quality of the meal and the innovative dishes.

amazing lunch
i never can get out for lunch during the week...but I took a half day with my girlfriend for lunch at prune - we split the burger (made with some lamb) was unreal and dripping with butter (a splurge), and a great seared tuna club - what a treat!

not worth it
Everything is unnecessarily oily or buttery without much other flavor. Pretty expensive ribeye for no sides and average quality. Check out the menu and make sure there is something on it you really want to try before heading there.

Outstanding!
Who thought a jaded New Yorker could find a place to rave about. Great creative food, excellent attentive friendly service and a great vibe. Sure its a trip from most everywhere but its worth it.

Great food, conversation & service
I thought the service at Prune was one of the best I have ever experienced. The staff was friendly and unpretentious. Yes the tables were close but we ended up having great conversations with both tables to either side of us, mostly about how incredible the food was. The food was very fantastic and the prices while not cheap where on par for what you are eating. Personally, I felt the menu was written personally for me, a great selection plus the specials. I did find the menu items to be of better quality than the specials but that is reaching for a criticism. I really enjoyed this wonderful place and would definetly recommend it. (I think out of towners, vegetarians and suits wouldn't like it, fine by me).

Not recommended
This place is very expensive, even for NY. I don't mind waiting as long as the food is good. The food was bland and overpriced- not well-presented. If you want basic food this is the place. Try it and see what you think but this place is not worth it.
