    Overrate!

After hearing rave reviews, I was disappointed in the food and the service. For $38, a quarter of your steak should not be fat... a ten minute wait for menus and water, unclean forks, and we had to ask for a waiter and a steak knife. The explaination for the poor service: an automatic 18% gratuity-- so waiters need not go out of their way to do even a mediocre job. If you like bustling steakhouse ambiance, then this is your place... but that includes practically sitting in your table neighbors lap...

great food - service can be improved

I've been to this restaurant many times - the food is always very good, the atmosphere very lively, the service spotty, and without exception, every single time, the hostess has been rude - both when calling for reservation and when we arrive. Just as I get ready to leave - determined not to put up with oblivious treatment, the Maitre de usually saves the day and is always courteous to us. Courtesy and service would make this restaurant a magnificent destination.

    A bit too pricey

I don't recommend the duck spring rolls as they were not so good. The steak is fantastic but when I got the bill I couldn't help wondering why i didn't go elsewhere for less. For a full meal for two don't expect to pay less than $150-$175.bon apetit!

I did not wnat to leave!

I kept hearing about this restaurant from friends and family so about two weeks ago we finally decided to go and check it out. I have to say that I did not want to leave! lol As soon as I arrived I was promptly greeted and sat. We were taken care of and made to feel right at home. We felt like we were being courted! We loved it. I ate the spinach pasta with nice plump chicken and a Tiramasu that left no dairy to be desired! My husband and I eat out a lot and I am surprised it took me this long to get there. Needless to say - I think it deserved a review. It is very hard to find good service out there and I truly was impressed.

    Best Burgers!

Definitely get a burger here, with sauteed onions. Wow - so delicious, I didn't even bother to eat the fries!

    Prime Grill

I would't go out of my way to return but we did have a pleasant experience. If you want a quieter atmosphere, ask for the small room off of the main dining area. Food was OK and the service was good. It was a bit pricey but inline with other upscale NYC places. Be careful parking as the garage across the street was $44.00. I would park elsewhere and walk or cab next time. My wife said the Halibut was very good and the Angus steak was very good.

    Not recommended

My fiance and I wanted to enjoy a night out at a new kosher restaurant in Manhattan and although The Prime Grill is known to be a bit pricey, we figured it was worth it. We haven't yet been to a kosher restaurant in Manhattan that we didn't love. We didn't have to wait to be seated (we had reservations) and the food was very good. However the service was poor. No one offered to refill our cups or bring more bread or even ask us if we would like to see a dessert menu. We had to ask for all of it, the drink, the bread, the dessert menu, which is fine when you're paying $30-$40 for two people but not when you're paying those kind of prices! The only thing we didn't have to ask for was the check, one of the waiters tossed it on our table when I was still eating dessert without us even asking for it! They tried to take away my food when I was still eating and then when it was clear that we were finished no one was offering to take it away...there was more that ruined the dining experience but I think that's enough for me, when you dine out it's not only about the food it's about the feeling and the comfort and it didn't exist, and that was on a slow night.
