We went to Prime Grill dinner on a summer Monday at 815, with a reservation. We were given the choice of two tables -- one next to the kitchen in the aisle, the other squeezed in between two others (as hard as it it to believe, we didnt have the worse table -- another couple was forced to sit at a table where they had to sit alongside each other). We asked for another table, and were offered to go to 'their nearby restaurant, Solo', which is 10 blocks away. To make matters worse, halfway through our meal they started setting up for a large party next to us and lifting chairs and tables over my wife; after finally getting our waiter's attention [30 minutes later since he was busy setting up for the party], to have our plates cleared and a desert menu, he rushed us out. When we complained, we were told by the maitre'd that he agrees with us, but needs to make a living and is told to stuff people in. And all of this for $200 minus wine -- Stay away!

Three of us went for dinner at 5:30pm. It took almost 45 minutes to get something other than water. Our tab came to $450.00 without any alcohol. The steaks were under-cooked. For that kind of money, I could have flown to Florida and been treated like royalty at other restaurants. We will never return.

I tried booking this place for a private party (more than 15 people) a month in advance. I was informed that I would have to go through their Event Coordinator. After leaving a couple of messages and waiting several days, I called back to the main number to inform them that their Coordinator had yet to get back to me. The woman at the restaurant put in at least two calls/emails to get her to contact me. When I finally spoke to the woman, she recommended their "sister restaurant" because their private room will charge you for 45 people, even if your party is half that. I was to be emailed the details that we discussed and never heard from her. Considering this was for a corporate dinner, they lost out on some serious business and future recommendations.

if ur looking to spend a lot of bucks for that speacil occasion, and want to make the money worhtwhile-prime grill is a top pick o f mine. The Food: flawless! from the sushi to the beef jerky to the dessert to the appatizer to the most important-the steak- it was all flawless. for me the food quality surpasses abigaels, les marais and even a personal favortie of mine-la carne grill. The atmosphere: is as bad a les marais. you hear the conversation of the person next to you. that's to put it bluntly. but don't let it turn you away. the great food is worth it. The value: very pricey. amongst the most amongst nyc kosher resteraunts. like 60 bucks for a steak. be prepared to spend money. service: nothing speacail, but i old that if u leave a resteraunt disgruntled b/c of a spazzy waitor u never would have enjoyed the dinner anyway. mediocre service isn't something to get all worked up about anyway. overall: BEST food, tight atmosphere, ok service, high prices.

Went out for anniversary dinner and told my husband I did not want to go to Prime Grill ....but he insisted we go. Knowing the prices are astronomical and the food is mediocre, we gave it a shot again and was quite disappointing. Our appetizers came out in 5 minutes after ordering....way before my glass of wine. It makes you think if it was prepared earlier. We ordered the sweetbreads for $26 and it was not hot. We also ordered the duck spring rolls for $23...such a rip off. My husband's steak for $67 or so and mine about $54. It was so burnt tasting! The french fries were good...for $10 they better be. I know it's kosher food, but there is no reason for it to be so expensive for mediocre food. They should be ashamed of themselves. I think this is another kosher restaurant we will ban.

Ate their last night: food was very good BUT extremely expensive - sushi appetizers, steaks and fish. Steaks were reasonably big and considered very good; the fish (sea bass) was excellent but very small portion. Wine was expensive (Dalton Merlot), but not great. Service was good, but staff kep trying to remove dishes that were unfinished - we had to reprimand several staff. I do not recommend this restaurant - the price for dinner for 4 - 1 bottle wine, 1 sushi, 4 appetizers, 4 entrees + 2 sides was close to $400.

After hearing so much hype about this restaurant my friends and I decided to give it a try and boy were we disappointed.. To begin with the waiters were rude. The service was slow and the restaurant wasnt even full. The salads were salty and the steak were so tough they should be ashamed to charge so much. We were so fed up we didnt even try the dessert. We paid the ridiculous bill and left... Dont even bother with this one!
