Don't judge a restaurant by its cover

This place is beautiful and is great if you're looking for a lounge to party. The food and service, however, were really subpar. They don't bring out the food all at once, so only a few people at the table had their food at any given time. The food also took way too long to come. My entree arrived cold and wouldn't have been good even if it did come hot. The food is amateur at best. One server gave me the wrong appetizer and ignored us when we tried to tell him it was wrong. I will not be going back for dinner.

    go for ambiance, not food

This place is decorated beautifully and the staff is very friendly and professional. The food however is average and not worth the price for the portion size they give you. Satays and bread in the beginning of the meal were good however, I'd fill up on those if you go.

    Beautiful

Really sexy loung atmosphere, great food, great drinks. Definitely stop by on a Saturday night to party. I've come here for dinner and for drinks, and the drinks might be better. You MUST try the lamb sliders, though.

nice vibe and presentation, crappy service

i took my fiance for his 30th bday and even before i got there, they had attitude on the phone. the space is great like everyone said, but the poor service made it a less-than-perfect experience. we had to chase the waiter down and he was short with us, plopping his bday dessert w/ candles down rudely--but the manager was nice and attentive about visiting tables. pricey but well presented and fresh food. yummy naan was a pleasant surprise, the shrimp satay wasnt bad and the lobster slider and scallops were really good. i also liked the halibut--the crayfish salad on top was the best. check it out once, if just for the vibe and the lounge

    Mixed

Several people have commented on the beautiful space/decor. I agree. I also agree with the reviewer who mentioned the unfortunate choice of ceiling lights in the main dining area downstairs: they're like a combination of 70s hotel. Food: I started with the pork satay. It wasn't hot but it was really overspiced --which was unfortunate because the varied and interesting dipping sauces that accompanied it had no chance to do their complementary work. For the main course, I had the Pan-roased Long Island Duck. It came on a bed of lemongrass & cumin rice and was accompanied by a yellow curry. The duck was cooked perfectly and was very satisfying. I felt that the curry, which had grapes in it, didn't match the duck very well. No discinct flavors--too muddy. Needed something clean and bright to harmonize with the slightly dark and deep flavor of the duck. Also, the grapes in the curry were a textural faux pas and should be left out. Drink: I ordered a Twilight on Madison. It was decent--nothing special Service: From entrace to exit, service was good while I was there. Prompt, friendly, attentive without being intrusive. Overall, a bit expensive for the slightly disappointing food.

There is much better in NYC - skip it.

The decor is nice, but thats about it. The deor is quickly ruined by poor service and drinks that are served like you were at a bad cook out (plastic glasses...). Champagne comes un-chilled... for $300 a bottle, you would think they would at least chill it. The crowd is also very B&T after 10 pm

    great ambience! tasty vegetarian options

Impressed by the size and decor of the place. We went on a friday night and stayed from 8pm-2 am. The place was packed and as the evening went on it got really full. The appetizers were excellent, the presentation and taste fabulous. I loved my vegetarian options wok fried cashews, shitake & tofu and loved the Tom kha squash soup. My friends loved the lamb slider. I rather eat smaller portions tastefully prepared rather than large portions with no flavor which I think is a waste of money. Definitely will go back and tell my other friends....
