    Posto is a No-Go

I was excited to try Posto after reading all the glowing reviews but was sadly disappointed when my friends & I went there for dinner. Upon entering, the place looks like a rustic old world pizzeria restaurant. Then, reality hits when you're faced with cramped booths & small tables squished together. Our menus, utensils & glasses of water were brought to us promptly. Although the waitress did ask us several times for our order, we weren't quite ready & we felt rushed. Then, when we were ready, she was nowhere to be found. When she showed up again, we decided to share salads and a large pie. She assured us that the salads chosen would be large enough to share - NOT REALLY. I could have scarfed the smallish plate down in two bites. The Caesar was made with old & dried-up Romaine lettuce, which they tried to cover-up by dousing the entire plate with cheap, supermarket-brand parmesan cheese. Although old & dried-up looking, too, the Endive Salad fared a little better. The only compensation was the small piece of goat cheese accompaniment. While waiting for our pizza, I noticed fragrant, piping hot pizza pies being brought to neighboring tables. When our pie arrived, it was a sad. It was not piping hot (the way I like it) and it was not fragrant at all. Although the crust was incredibly thin and crispy (bravo on that), the tomato sauce and toppings had a weird taste. It didn't have that salty, savory taste one usually finds on a pizza. It had a strange sweet flavor. Not too appetizing. As for the service, eh. The busboy was OK. The waitress seemed quite disinterested in us and we were left alone for quite awhile. When she finally arrived, I detected several "rolling of the eyes" and an audible "Tsk." Not Good!!! My friends & I found this place expensive for what you get. There are many other great pizzerias in town. This is not one of them!!! We wound up leaving hungry...and went out again for more "REAL FOOD"!! My friends & I do not recommend POSTO and will not return for another try!

    Delicious Thin Crust

The pizza here is really delicious. It's not the cheapest, but it's worth it for the taste! Delivery is fast and good, but the wait staff service isn't the best if you 're dining in.

    Great Find!

Glad to have another good restaurant in Gramercy! The pizza here is consistently excellent (if you like thin crust pizza). The prices could be cheaper, but reasonable given the area. My only complaints would be delivery (the pizza is definitely better at the restaurant) and the service. The host (not sure what his name is) is as pissy as can be. If you can look past that, though, it's a fantastic little restaurant!

    Good Pizza, Service So So

Finally went here on a Thursday night. A word of advice, If you want a table I suggest you get there by 7pm latest. I got there at 6:30 and the inside was empty. The outside tables were all full and everyone, including myself, asked for a table outside. Since none were available sat inside. Within 15-20 minutes the entire place was filled. And yes with wild children running around the place too. On to the food, Very thin crust pizza, perhaps the thinnest I've ever had. Tasted good, Had the sweet Italian Sausage with Roasted garlic. Also had the Garlic Bread to start, a little pricey for $8 but quite good. Friend had the Chicken Caeser salad. Pretty good. Wine was not so great, was served in one of those tiny glasses you get orange juice in when you get a continental breakfast at a motel. The Lemonade is served extremely tart and they give you a bottle of sugar water for taste. Will I go back, perhaps. Run back, no. I like Piola on East 12th Street just as much and its closer with a larger menu.

    solid

Came here for dinner on a week day, not that crowded. Easygoing decor and ambience, food is great, really tasty thin crust pizza. Try the Meatlovers which was by far the best I tried. They serve beer on draft and in bottles as well. Prices are decent, could be cheaper but not ridiculous. Overall, if you are into thin crust pizza, give it a try.

    Positively Posto

We think the staff is just the coolest. Carol and Ron and Darla are funny, savvy, and delightful no better place to be than at the bar when they are working. The pizzas are oh, so good, and the house salad is always fresh and has this amazing dressing, almost as good as the beer. It is the coziest little place, perfect both winter and summer. And the prices are terrific, too. We are so glad this place and these people are in our neighborhood.

    love it

casual. comfortable. convenient. classic. this is an awesome place to go on the weekdays when it is less busy... summer time invites the neighborhood to the outside tables where it's so nice to chill out with a pitcher of beer or bottle of wine along with THE BEST pizza i've ever tasted. QUALITY ingredients. not just a glob of cheese dough.
