we were seated at the bar because there were no tables available. this would have been fine if the bartender wasn't so bad. there was hardly anyone else at the bar, but she was still too busy standing around doing nothing to bring us bread or water. we had to flag her down any time we wanted anything, even though the bar isn't very long. the food was not bad.

Was pretty unimpressed. My spaghetti vongole was bland.

I live around Porsena and have been eagerly awaiting its opening. When I finally tried it, it was exactly what I thought it would be and more. Porsena is a down to earth, comfortable cozy place that you can stop by for a casual meal with a date, friends or family. It feels just like your favorite neighborhood little restaurant and almost feels like you're right back home. The food also echoes the same vibe. Something you would eat at a family meal prepared by your mother and grandmother. The salads and the octopus was superb, fresh and light. The pomodoro, lasagna and vongole were excellent. Loved that it was not too greasy and packed a lot of flavor. We tried the short ribs and chicken for our entrees, both of which were amazing. Definitely do order the entrees if you go. After all this food, I was amazed that it didnt make me feel gross and stuffed. And of course, the panna cotta is a MUST. I am so happy that such a little gem has opened on my block. Will be going back very often (and already have been!)

The pasta is perfect and made to order. However, my pasta at home is perfect. If you live in the hood certainly go to Porsena, but the food is much too simple to cab it down there.

After dining at Porsena I can't imagine eating pasta anywhere else. I constantly crave the pasta pomodoro! This is pasta and tomato sauce at it's best! The atmosphere is cozy, unpretentious, and inviting. A new addition to the neighborhood that the locals can really appreciate. If your stomach is in need for sublime pasta at an affordable price, Porsena will be your best bet.

The service is ragged, (at best) and I'm torn about the food. I had mussels and pasta with lamb sausage with greens. succuent mussels and pasta was peppery but could have used a tomato product.Sort of dry. He had octopus salad- most noted for its overwhelming lemon flavor. Lasagne was basically a cheese souffle with a small amount of pasta. Not satisfying. Maybe they will improve the service and perk up the menu. Right now it's not any better than any local pasta joint.
