rude lady on the phone but the food is worth it.

I have to agree, the people that work there are pretty rude, mainly the female employee. Everytime I go I make it a game to try to get her to be nice- ya know kill her with kindness, but I feel like they all just hate their job..its like quit if you dont want to be there. But it is around the block- and great comfort food so just deal with the brats and get a nice greasy burger- best for hangovers. Oh and the mac and cheese is awesome...

in reply to the people who say they're rude at pops: i actually think they're the most normal friendly down to earth staff of any burger joint i've ever been to. they've all been completely polite to me....

I just (August 24 2009 between 8-9pm) ordered delivery from Pop's and had one of the rudest phone ordering experiences I've had in 10 years in New York. The snotty punk at Pop's tonight was sarcastic, cursed, interrupted me, told me I'm lucky to get my food in an hour, then hung up on me. Seriously questioning whether I'll ever order from them again - I guess it depends on the food tonight - the first few times I ordered the food was great, but the last time it was all cold and the wings were undercooked. Even if the food's great, if they're rude next time I'll just hang up. Hopefully they read this and deal with the courtesy-challenged staff who work there.

I've been to Pop's and had them deliver food as well several times over the last year. Honestly, I've never encountered such rude people in any establishment in any city. Whoever it is that's behind the counter at any given time has consistently been unkind and uncourteous. Whether ordering at the counter or calling on the phone, these "workers" never fail to make me feel stupid. The food is okay at best. Delivery time is fairly quick, but then again I only live four blocks away. On several occasions my order has been entirely messed up, with missing items. When I've called back to try and correct the mistake I've given up because of how amazingly incompetent these people are. The actual establishment always has music blaring, especially in the evenings when whatever management isn't there. The workers will ignore you and talk to their friends.

I've ordered from here 4 or 5 times because it's near my office and they deliver quickly. The bread is always stale, the cheesteak greasy. The burgers & fries aren't any better either.
