Ponty Bistro

We had a pleasant enough meal last night, but in spite of the raves this place gets, I do have a few reservations The waiters were all sweet, but the waitress was not. We went early -- few people were there yet, but the waitress came up immediately to take our order. Odd because our drinks hadn't even arrived yet. When I told her that we were waiting for our drinks, she said, "I know," with an edge of irritation.Once the drinks arrived, she immediately pounced on us again to take our order. I felt like I was in a busy coffee shop, with no time to spare. Our meal was not coffee shop prices -- the rack of lamb, a special, was $30 for two (fairly small) chops. Tasty, but anyone with a large appetite would have left hungry. The martinis and sangria were good, and my husband liked his steak. I'll try the place again because, in spite of the waitress, the place has a nice vibe and I would like to sample some of the other dishes (though the menu is considerably shorter than the one online).

The use of herbs and spices that are unfamiliar to even experienced diners makes for a dining adventure. The service and the food were excellent. The entire experience made us feel good.

Better than good. They do the mac and cheese the best. Definitely reccomended for a friend.

Crispy Tuna is outstanding and, if you can believe it, the Mac & Cheese is worth the trip. How do you make Mac & Cheese great? They have figured it out.

I went here for the first time and had no idea what to expect. I loved it! The crispy tuna, to die for.. The other things were really great as well. I will absolutely go back again and again. They were really friendly and lovely as well.

I love the mussels and gazpacho - and they have good martini drink specials! They have been changing the look out front and it is looking much better. The menu is a bit daunting - it's huge! - but everything I have had was great.

Noone should come through New York without having a meal at this wonderful place. Thank you to the chef and staff.
