Pomodoro Ristorante & Pizza
Posted by Neighbor to the North on 01/24/2005
The pizza here has an off taste, way too much garlic, and a suspiciously jar-sauce flavor. I've ordered pizza from there a few times and have been disappointed.

We Like Food (the collective reviewers of an East Village apartment) are not too pleased with Pomodoro's pizza. Last night we ordered garlic bread and a pizza with mozzerella and fresh tomatoes on it. The crust was completely flavorless and had a weird texture to it. Looking at other reviews it seems some people really like the pizza but with so many options available in the city of the greatest pizza, we will be moving on.

Went to many pizza places - by far this was the best. Try the vodka pie.

The order took more than 2 hours to receive and the full wasn't all too great either. We got hung up on multiple times when we called to check on our order.

Ive been to them all, Grim's, Lombardis-you name it. But the pizza here is the best-the crust is sweet, lightly toasted, everything is so fresh (tomatoes, mozzarella, basil)--and I find the staff , yes , could be toted as moody, but you just have to break them. C'mon , a slice and a coke is $4, what more do you want?

The food is good, fast, and cheap...the service is a little "moody". Depending on who is tending the joint, you could get greeted with a smile or a snarl.

The pizza is some of the best in NYC. Try the Vodka slice.... you won't regret it. Regular Italian is average.
