    Just Not Welcoming

I'm definitely at odds with the earlier reviews that speak so highly of the place. My bad dinner started off with the recitation of the wines... by type with no mention of who the winemaker is and the vintage... The waiter seemed very offended when I asked .. and he didn't know. Didn't bother to mention the price either. $10 ain't a lot but the wine was absolute swill. The pasta was unaccomplished huge bowls... I could've done the same at home from a jar. Don't get why it is so crowded

    Good Experience

Good value compared to other places in West 60s & West 70s; we had 8 for dinner, service was great, meals were reasonably priced; seafood and Grouper entree excellent, veggies fresh, overall excellent experience

    Excellent Family Style

Looking for comfort food, Italian Style? You can do no better than Pomodoro! The food is basic, but they do a good job with home style Italian cooking, and the cozy atmosphere is always fun. If your a snobby "foodie", go to del Posto and pay twice as much for half the portion, and then tell yourself how much better than everyone else you are. If you're a real person looking for the type of stuff your Grandma used to make, give Pomodoro a try.

    Excellent Italian Cuisine

This is an excellent place to dine. They have great specials and above average service. My wife and I have eaten here numerous times (including the valentines day special) and have had a great experience each time. Highly encourage dining here.

First time there and will def go back!!!

Went with my boyfried fri night. Was great. Nice, cozy atmosphere. Service was great. Food was delicious. From the bread and yummy garlicy olive oil to the pasta dish and chicken parmigiana, it was great. Portions are really big. Food is delicious. Will def. return.

Ate there once- would not recommend

I'm consistently surprised by how busy it is every time I walk past- apparently there is a big market for overpriced, average-quality (Americanized) Italian food on the UWS. The only possible justification for such prices is the large portions.

Old family favorite keeps on strong!

The fact is that Pomodoro has a huge army of regular customers that are greeted with a warm smile from Peter every time they return. You don't get this popular by just being nice however - the key is consistency and Pomodoro has that down. I have never been disappointed in the 10 years or so my family and I have been eating here. The service is always great and the food delicious and hearty. I think my favorite part is the warm foccacia and olives in oil when you sit down. yum!
