Okay, so our party of 3 orders. One would like the egg order with kasha, not home fries, another would like the egg order with extra bacon instead of sausage, the third, two poached eggs. After 10 minutes, no water, no coffee. I asked for the coffee, it eventually came. Of course the waitress just puts it on the table and walks away without checking to see if there's any milk or sugar... And then comes the wait... after a while we ask if the breakfast is coming... then more waiting... then another query... and more waiting.. what we didn't realize that there's one grill cook in the back who's furiously working on making breakfast for everyone at every table... later on we heard that she had to re-do someone's order that wasn't right, which was a poor explanation for the extreme delay we experienced... ultimately she had to work additionally on two of OUR orders... after waiting more than a half hour, finally, my dish comes, but it came with the home fries instead of the kasha, so that plate had to go out. Then the second plate came out, and that plate had the sausage and no extra bacon, so that plate had to go back. It was like, whatever could go wrong, went wrong. Later I got my toast, but another egg dish didn't get toast, so that order had to be handled separately. What else could go wrong? When the check came, the extra bacon that was supposed to substitute for the sausage, which had been acknowledged by the waitress upon first ordering, was charged as an additional side order, so she had to go back and check with the grill master, who runs the place, to get that part approved. All in all, you have to go there with the idea that you're going to be spending some time there. And orders will go wrong. And you'll have to get up and go to the counter to get what ever accoutrements you'll need, like one in our group who never got a fork.

I went to Polonia because I had a restaurant.com coupon and was interested in getting the duck. It was so overcooked and dry. We went on a Sunday afternoon. There was only one other table. The service was so poor!! We asked the server several questions and she kept saying"I don't know" and would go check with the bartender. Our appetisers and entrees came out together. The chicken cutlet my husband had was also dry and overcooked. Our server never came back to check on us and we had to go to the bar where she was hanging out to get more drinks since she couldn't be bothered. I'm glad we didn't have to pay full price for such unappetizing food and poor service.

What I thought was going to be in the tradition of the former Teresa's on the opposite side of the street turned out to be a very mediocre eating experience for all concerned. Just plain disappointing/tired kasha and bigos which tasted sour and off. Nothing at all like what I get a couple doors down at the little Polish lady's deli. No offense, nice people here, but either there aren't enough customers frequenting them these days or the management just doesn't give a hoot. Probably should have gone to Veselka.

Used to be better, less fancy and more good food, now with the addition of the bar corner and all of the wines, they consider themselves a fancy restaurant. To go soups take legitimately half an hour to come out, due partly to the fact that they don't have a steam table up front, and that they want you to believe they are making it while you wait, when it would really take much longer if they were actually making it. Pretty clean although, especially compared to previous years.

My boyfriend and I live in the Bronx, so of course we wanted to get out of the BX for the day and get some brunch (not that the Bronx doesn't have grrrreat food). So I found Polonia Eatery online...when we finally got the the restaurant after and hour travel (service on the tracks meant we had to take the 4 Local train). We were happy to find Polonia to be small, and quite yet bustling. Cool air, good service and an awesome breakfast for prices a-typical to a New York brunch. We were really full, and really happy- giving each other a hi-Five for a trip well worth it!

We've been here several times in the past 10 months and have had consistently good Polish food. I wouldn't come here to order steak, fish, etc. Order the pierogi or something else from the traditional Polish menu and you won't be disappointed.

The portions were good, the service was friendly and the price was right (meaning on the cheaper side how I like it). Came here with a friend and we had a satisfying dinner. I had the borscht with dumplings to start and a gigantic bread bowl full of beef goulash for an entree. My friend had the smoked butterflied trout and it had a delightful smoky flavor and she finished it all. I'd come back here.
