I live in the village and was introduced to Poke by a friend. The travel uptown was WORTH IT! The service is awesome--very friendly and pretty quick. The byob is great, you don't end up spending 50 bucks on a 20 dollar bottle of wine. The sushi was creative and fresh. I've had sushi from SO many places, this is the best, in its price range.

I love the BYOB concept but the sushi wasn't too great. The seaweed was tough to bite into.

I've been going to Poke since it's original location on 85th Street. It's consistently amazing. I love the chic new atmosphere. Since it's BYOB, the bill is always so reasonable. Downsides are the wait time and cash only policy. If you do have to wait for a table, walk the half block to the liquor store on 85th/1st. They have great wines at very inexpensive prices. This is a great date place as well as a fun get-together with friends.

Absolutely amazing, if I could have it everyday without getting mercury poisioning from the freshest fish the sea has to offer, I definitiely would. The BYO and the price points make the restaurant that much better.

If you are interested in amazing and creatively executed sushi, without the pretentiousness found in most higher end spots, in a lively environment...then go to Poke tonight. BYOB is great, there's a liquor store right down the street. Prices/quality ratio can simply not be beat. Order the truffle roll. GO. NOW.

I'm a sushi snob and this place is by far the best in NYC and top five of all time...anywhere. Tip: sit at the sushi bar for the best service and BYOB is much recomended. Spicy Toro/ crunch roll is fabulous and any special they are offering that night sushi style..it will melt in your mouth along with anything else you order.

Tried it out based on a recommendation. Great special rolls that were not very expensive. Byob was a nice touch. Not much rooms between tables so not the best place for an intimate conversation between two. besides that, great fun place to eat.
