another former customer
Sad to see what happened to this place. They've alienated one customer base after the next. One can only hope that the process of creative destruction will drive these owners out of the business and let someone else try to bring the place back up to speed.

Wings
I have ordered the hot wings countless of times and have nothing but great things to say. Great flavor and the wings are very meaty. Tried the honey garlic and those were terrible. Stick to the hot wings and you won't be disappointed.

Disappointing
This place used to be great - great location, atmosphere, character, bar, menu. It was the kind of place perfect for a burger & beer on a lazy weekend, in a beautiful neighborhood. But then they decided to fill the once fabulous old-world style bar with not one but FOUR large screen TV's all blaring at high volume, replaced all the comfortable tables and chairs with small patio furniture, and changed the menu to high-priced, low-quality non-traditional bar food. It's as if the owners of P.J. Hanley's wished they owned a stadium instead of the lovely, historic place it is. What a shame. After a couple very dissatisfying visits, we have decided never to return, and to encourage our friends to follow suit.

Couldn't believe it
I was at Hanley's recently and I ordered a round. The bartender said $12. I gave her a $20. She brought me back $5 and walked away. I called her over to ask why and she said "Oh, I don't have any singles." No appology, nothing. Are they just plain trying to steal my money? Also if you want your drinks on the rocks, they will charge you an extra dollar!! Outrageous!

Downhill
Absolutely true about downhill service and raised prices. Its incredibly disappointing considering this was a neighborhood staple. The last time I went, the service was so unacceptable that I decided I wasn't going back. I do not recommend this place.

Gone down hill
This place has gone completely downhill as of recent. The service has always been slow but the food was worth the wait. Now the prices have gone up significantly and there is no consistency with the staff.

Sad to see
When the new owners originally took over 3 years ago, I thought the food and atmosphere was great. That's changed so much now. They no longer grind burgers from sirloin fresh in the kitchen, but the cheesburger will gouge you $13 now. A Jameson on the rocks used to be $6 (like most places all over the city), now it's $9. I get it that they're trying to clip the new influx of yuppies, but enough's enough. Now there's College Night and video game parties. Sad to see an old landmark tavern turn into a Spring Break bar. Waiting to see the next poor management decision drive more regulars out the door.
