Hats off to the Midtown Manhattan seasoned veteran PJ Clarke’s for its endless effort of never disappointing. Clarke’s is one of New York City’s oldest and most beloved burger joints and bar. Known for its simplistic but masterful burger, this perennial powerhouse will leave you coming back for more…fo’ sho’. The Bernaise burger is prey this evening cooked medium rare, cheddar cheese, smothered in Bernaise sauce and sneaking onto the burger is a handful of fried onion strings (The onions are a side but who is going to stop you?). This juicy delight will surely have you licking your chops and singing praises for a tradition unlike any other, The Bernaise Burger (not the Masters). Brush up on your Irish accent and strike up some friendly conversation with the happy folks behind the bar. They are assured to offer up great service and generous pints of “loud mouth soup”.

I just ate at PJ Clarke's for the first time last night. It was super crowded in the skinny bar area which I took to be a promising sign. Got a beer at the bar while we waited for our table. Bar tender was friendly, speedy and capable. Our table was ready within 10 minutes and our server was incredibly friendly. It took her seconds to get drink refills, the food came fast - yet we were not rushed, and most everything was great. I came for the oysters and was not disappointed. I thought the onion straws were too salty, but maybe that was a one off? My boyfriend had steak and fries and was pleased with his food. Overall, we would definitely come back to PJ Clarke's again.

The Reuben was on point! Friendly bartenders make a decent dirty martini.

I've eaten here several times, and everytime I hope for something amazing, and although it looks good, it's seriously mediocre for the price tag attached. Burger was decent, but pricy. Good atmosphere. super busy after work. Total pick-up bar (what isn't in midtown). decent service when it's not a zoo. seriously disappointing eggs benedict, BTW. Takes forever to deliver 1 block away.

First off, this is the place you go if you want the best burger in the city. Unfortunately it doesn't come with the best customer service. I need to put in a order for a business meeting (30+ burgers). So I called the day previous to place the order. I was told by the manager that they couldn't even write down the order and that I would have to call at 11:30AM on the day I needed the food. Well, I needed the burgers at 12:00PM but I was told to just call back at 11:30AM and they would be able to handle it. So I call at 11:25AM and I'm told that they will not be delivering anything any time soon because it's so close to lunch. After fighting with them and talking to the manager they eventually make the delivery. It's amazing food but it's such a shame that every time I place an order with them it's like you have to twist their arm to give you any kind of service. Again, fantastic food but they need to re-think how they operate as a business.

One of my top picks in New York City. The burgers here are amazing, as are the fries. The location makes it very convenient for after work, and if you are looking for a drink the bar is super fun. Bonus points for staying open late!

This is a great bar and restaurant. At first i wasn't sure about going as was worried it would be a hyped up tourist haven with below average food but it was nothing of the sort. The food was great - what an amazing burger, the onion strings are a must and the desserts well say no more! Highly reccommended for a bar with a great atmosphere.
