Poor Service
We went to PJ Clark's prior to seeing the Nutcracker. We were five adults and three children. We waited almost 45 minutes for our food to arrive. When it did, our orders were not correct.

Wow what a let down.
Plain and simple this place is busy, packed and it is most definitely not good. my wine glass was nowhere near an average wine glass pour. On top of that the wine glass was dirty. ($14 Pinot Noir). the burger bun was terrible and basically mushed into a paper thin tortilla. The tatar tots were completely tasteless, the side of mushrooms were even worse. I'm still in awe at how this place keeps busy. I would have to say its location + tourists is the reason why.

Not worth it
This please is a madhouse. It is noisy, smelly, dark and you will feel rushed to eat fast and get out as quickly as you can. The food is beyond mediocre and bland and it is overpriced for the quality. The pasta I had (baked mac and cheese with peas and bacon) was revolting, undercooked and with basically no cheese. And it was beyond overpriced for the quality. The pasta was in a puddle of oil with undercooked bacon, and although it was supposed to be "au gratin" it was not! The few breadcrumbs on the top were not even warmed up properly. My friend's burger was as bland as it could be. The appetizer we shared (fried calamari) were coated with very thick layers of dough which was super-greasy, not crispy and the calamari were chewy and tasteless. Avoid this place if you can. It will be a total disappointment.

Are they kidding?
I am a New Yorker. I have no problem paying for good food. I do have a problem paying for virtually no food. Three omelettes, which are accompanied by 1 slice of toast and a chicken sandwich with a pickle ended up costing $90 with tax and tip. Yes there were 3 coffees also. I know Lincoln center, but $90 cmon.

Pretty good
My friends and I went before seeing a show at Lincoln Center and it was very nice. Service was good and prompt, our water glasses were rarely empty and the food was...ok. Some items were definitely better than others (pass on the mashed potatoes and Chicken pot pie but get the tomato soup and brussel sprouts). Our waiter was...shall we say firm in his opinions? It wasn't a huge problem, but he poopooed my friend's wine choice and that wasn't cool. All said, I'd go back but would order something else. It's great if you're going to LC for a show- there are plenty of entrees under $20.

Great staple neighbourhood restaurant
I live very near PJ Clarkes, so I am there about once every two weeks. It's consistent, friendly, great service and absolutely scrummy food. The crab cakes are the best that I have ever tasted, the burgers are not too huge and are really good quality. I have never been disapointed and regularly take visitors there.

It served its purpose.
I've eaten at P.J. Clarke's a number of times before a performance at Lincoln Center. Its location across the street makes it very convenient. I've read the other reviews and agree that the food is just ok and for what you get, it's pricey (paying for convenience, of course). One shouldn't go there expecting a gourmet experience. It's a pub, not Le Bernadin. I always order simple food in a place like this because getting fancy only brings disappointment. I have to say that at no time did I get poor service. Each server was polite and at no time did I feel neglected. I've only eaten lunch there, so I can't comment on people's dinner experiences. I've come to be disappointed in a number of restaurants in the area because many have changed their brunch and lunch menus - fewer selections, increased prices, smaller portions. P.J. Clarke's is what it is. A casual, fast place to have something to eat before the show.
