A poor experience. Ever try an open faced reuben sandwhich that's 2 hours old? I would chalk it up to simply a green delivery guy, but the customer service I got from the other end of the phone just made the bad food even worse. At 20 minutes past the estimated the delivery time I called the restaurant to make sure everything was ok. I was told to be patient, so that's what I did. At an hr passed the delivery time I finally got a call from the restaurant asking me why I wasn't home. I told them that they should notice that IN CAPS I wrote clearly the name of my wine shop, not an apartment. The woman at the other end of the phone sounded annoyed with me as if I should be asking to much to receive a delivery while at work. I did finally receive my order, but it's better used as a door stop than sustenance. I called to see if I could get any explanation/sympathy. Just a sincere apology would have been nice. Instead I got a patronizing cardboard cut out of an apology from the same stale receptionist. To whoever owns/runs PJ Bernstein, I want you to know this: I am sympathetic to what you do. I have managed restaurants and currently manage a wine shop. Our jobs are difficult because more often than not, what we really manage are people's personalities and emotions. That being said, you have obviously dropped the ball because you've earned yourself one seriously dissatisfied customer. Be sure to read this review on Yelp, Google, and Seamless.

everyone should stop complaining- its the best food- and the man that answers the phone is LOVELY! you get what you pay for...

I have been ordering for year's and love their chicken in the pot (although a bit salty) as well as their meats, blintzes but the person usually taking the orders over the phone has a very poor attitude. I put up with it but, unless he is the owner, the owner should get someone else!

I wanted to order a delivery - the person on the telephone was very nasty. We order food delivery at least 3 times a week, and this was the worst ordering experience I have ever had. It is not the first time we ordered from them but it will be the last. Someone needs to open another deli on the upper east side, they will make a fortune.

At the Third Ave/E. 70 location, I ordered eggs, ham and cheese on a roll and large coffee to go. Bill was $8.13. A short walk to Central Park, and I discovered the sandwich was wet mush, the coffee cold and bad, and the cup was only 2/3 full. I tossed the whole mess into a trash can. Avoid this place.
