Don't go!!
I rarely take the time to leave reviews, good or bad, but I do feel strongly about warning people about this place. We went for dinner here, being foreigners curious to check out the famed Chicago deep dish pie. What a mistake! The service was poor- our drinks took forever to arrive and when they did, they were watered down with the melted ice. Our food similarly took a long time, and the pizza was not even hot when we got it. The ingredients seemed really stale overall, and the sausage had a weird texture/smell/taste to it. We’d also ordered a Caesar salad and my boyfriend took one look at it and would not touch it (off-green color, and not very fresh seeming) but I must have been terribly hungry as I ate it.

Delivery better than expected
Just ordered lunch. Super easy to do online, including several places to put special instructions. Lots of options for ordering for 1, including individual size pizzas and 1/2 size desserts. Delivery took a while BUT the website does say allow 45 mins and mine came faster than that. I even ordered ice cream that was still frozen, and I live 5 blocks away. My experience could be unique to a workday in a mostly residential neighborhood - dinner/wknd might be different - but I will definitely order from them again.

Weird tasting pizza
We ordered 2 pizzas, and both of them tasted like airplane pizza. not sure how else to explain it, but it just did.

Not a good take out place
I actually have eaten the pizza a few times, but mostly because there really is no deep dish pizza on the UES and I have been missing Gourmet Pizza and Things (also once known as "My Pie" out on Long Island) since I was a teenager. However, Uno's subpar take out service finally made me decide to never order from them again - in fact my last experience was so poor I wound up walking out of the restaurant and telling them to "keep my pizzas", which I will explain. Despite them advertising rather prominently this deal of ordering two pies for take out at a reduced price, they seem to have absolutely no plan for how to deal with take out. The first three times I went there I was annoyed that no matter how much time I left before the pick up, my order was never at the pick up/cashier station and was sitting in the back of the restaurant. It begins to dawn on you that none of the servers particularly WANT to walk back to the kitchen and pick up your order for you. So you are treated to employees standing around talking about the doings in the restaurant and basically doing everything else they can FIRST for several minutes before dealing with you, meaning your food sits there for several minutes before anyone makes an effort to go pick it up or even see if it is ready. I noticed this the first time I went, and the same pattern was repeated the second and third time. By the fourth I was obviously expecting it but a little annoyed by this practice. Sure enough, I went in and some older lady was wearing her "harried" mood on her sleeve and spent several minutes blabbing with a hostess before returning to the counter where people were waiting to be seated and place orders. People were milling about away from the counter waiting. I stood where I thought I belonged on line and waited. When the "harried" older woman (who had the demeanor of a stressed out unhappy grade school teacher - the kind that wore their disinterest and tension all over their face) finally got to asking me "can I help you" I said I was picking up an order. So she then says "Ok just give me a few minutes I'm going to deal with some of these other customers" and she moves on, despite the fact that I can see my food is sitting there waiting to be picked up. So, having finally had enough of this "put off the pick up orders" attitude I said "how long am I going to be waiting, this happens every time I order." The woman then scowls at me and actually scolded me for being impatient. Hence - bye UNOs.

Sad Take-out
Today I ordered the buffalo chicken quesadilla. I have had it from Pizzeria Uno before and it was delicious and huge! Let me tell you this was a complete disappointment. I don't know if they are trying to save $ but a quesadilla that is nearly $10.00 should be satisfying. The portion was 10x smaller and not nearly as filling. I suggest they revisit their potion sizes - because not everybody is on Jenny Craig!

Uno + tummy = yummy!
Yay! Uno! Underneath all the rolls and poles I'm still a little girl inside. That's why I love my UNO! Best pie in town . . . but so expensive when you order all your favorites together. My favorite is extra cheese with no sauce and then a sunday to finish. Seriously guys, come here in the afternoon so you can fit in a nap afterwards, 'cause you're gonna need it! Lots of love, Tim!
