What potential this place has, but after dining or ordering at Pizza D'Amore quite a few times since it is a reasonably priced family restaurant/pizzeria, I officially gave up. The food is never the same twice. Though you can be sure most foods are very salty and their sauce is always extremely sweet. There waitors/waitress could care less as well. Their heart shape mini pies would be great if didn't give you massive heart burn and if they were fully cooked.

Attended a private party recently - service was poor - waited one and one half hours for food- not even bread put on the tables - then when food was finally ready - only ten slices of bread at the buffet table for at least 150 guests! food was just okay - waited another 45 minutes for the children's chicken & fries to be served - everyone at my table was starving at that point! Then to top it off when the cake and coffee were being served- the wait staff arrived with just TWO small carafes of coffee each holding about five or six cups of coffee to accomodate at least 100 guests - finally gave up and left. This place cannot handle a party!

the food is delicious, atmosphere is very low key, and prices are very fair. I highly recommend this place.

Bruschetta isnt a difficult thing to make. It was soggy, no olive oil in sight tossed with balsamic vinegar loaded with garlic and heated? My pasta fagoli was orechette and some white beans swimming in a thick tomato sauce - there was no broth. IT was by far the most unappetizing thing I've ever been served. The carbonara was just a mess. it had pieces of boiled ham and corn in it. The heart shaped pizza saved them and that was made outside of the kitchen. I no longer recommend Pizza D'Amore, they expanded and their food has suffered. Sorry I had to post this but it was that disappointing. Don't waste your money.

My son ordered the pasta carbonara which the menu said it was made with prosciutto. The dish was made with ham ( my son hates ham). I said to the waitress that the chef should tell the consumer of any substitutes. She said"yes you are right they did not make the dish correctly". When leaving the restaurant I expressed my feelings again to the boss and his reply was " I know l spoke to the chef". A lot of good that did my son. Their attitudes seemed unconcerned. Shame on them because I know I will not go back. Too many restaurants in NYC to put up with that.

I like this Italian restaurant. The food is tasty and enjoyable even if it is not out of the ordinary. The pizza is good. My only negative thought is that everything I've had there is rather salty, so if you're trying to avoid salt in your diet, this is not the place for you.
