My Addiction is Back
When La Grolla, the best Italian restaurant on the UWS, closed, I mourned the passing of the best lasagna I have ever eaten... either here or in Italy. Made Valdostan style it's more of a white sauce lasagna. But HOORAY! It's back at new Pizza by La Grolla a modest upscale pizza place that redefines pizza of the west side... Many of my old faves plus a selection of specialty pizzas that could change my eating habits... The patate pizza was delicious, and, as always, Dan, the owner/ manager makes you feel like a welcome guest in his home. Only thing missing was the extraordinary wine list.

Great Pizza- Same old La Grolla
La Grolla used to be an upscale Italian place, now they've re-opened as a pizza place. Good news, they still have the lasagna and a couple other pastas. The pizza is great, good crust, really top quality toppings, good price for a high end pizza. I miss their chocolate mousse though! Now its a pick up and take out place, easy to drop by and pick up some pasta or a pie on the way home. Definitely try the bread sticks, they are delicious.
