A gracious setting, kindness abounds. We tried the cheap lunch specials, generous, with extra varieties of foods, and nicely served, they have a winning formula. Wish I could say the food had the sparkling, amazing, nuanced subtle, flavours one looks forward to - but it was, despite some spiciness, still lacking magic and was really rather meh. All the same flavours. Won't judge till we try it at dinner, as lunch stuff sits around and gets boring. Tried the veg kofta ball - oh dear, they don't care, all flour, too bad. Will keep searching for the kofta balls of our dreams...

Gracious entry greeting and wonderful service throughout the meal. Menu was very interesting and portions were generous. The seasoning was perfect. Some dishes were very spicy (which we like but none were over the top. We ordered the lamb shank; chicken soup; chicken in tomato sauce and eggplant. All were excellent. The Gulab Jamon dessert was one of the best I've eaten.

it came within a half hour and it was amazing. The chicken tikki was amazing as was the paneer tikka. Naan was amazing. ONLY complaint was they didn't have side condiments like green and red sauce. The salad with dressing didn't cut it. Otherwise perfect.

Indain restauransts pop up all over New York, from the very upscale fusion to the bunch on lexington. This ones sets itself apart. The food was excellent. The key will be consistency, can they keep it up.

Just ate there last night with some friends and just loved everything that we ordered; the waiter actually recommended most of the dishes; the palak paneer was awesome (actual fresh spinach); can't wait to go back. The wait staff were friendly and attentive.

We've lived in the neighborhood for over 15 years and have never been able to find an Indian restaurant we liked close by. They all just seemed so greasy to us. Everything changed a few days ago, when I walked past Pippali and noticed that it was new to the neighborhood and looked really nice. When we ordered in tonight, we decided to give this place a chance. I'm so glad we did! We ordered the Chapli Shorba (chicken soup with Indian style sausage), Bihari Dal, Bihari Gohst (really yummy marinated braised lamb shank) and Lagan Da Murgh (amazing chicken roulade). Each dish was wonderful and we kept on smiling throughout the meal. This is such a winner! And the fact that the chef is originally from Tamarind makes so much sense. No wonder everything's so amazing! Tamarind food without the price tag. I only gave this five stars because there was no option for six. We will be back, and be spreading the word!!!!
