Perfect for a date or dinner w friends!

I have been to Pipa numerous times, and I've never been disappointed. The food is amazing! The crap and shrimp croquettes, the calimari, and the veggie cocas are standouts! However, the very best part of Pipa has to be the sangria. It's wonderful and served in very large pitchers. Pipa has a great atmosphere, perfect for an intimate date or a night out with friends. I highly recommend it! The only critique I have is the waiting involved to get a table. Even if you make a reservation (which I highly suggest), you may end up waiting. But hey, it's a great restaurant in NYC. I expect it!

Great Atmosphere, Food, & Sangria = Fun!

This is definitely a fun, trendy place to go. I went with a group of girls for a birthday dinner. We drank sangria, laughed and passed around a huge variety of tapas which I thought were pretty delicious (not 100% authentic, but I'm biased b.c I used to live in Spain, but they were very enjoyable)! The service was fast and everyone was very friendly and polite... not to mention, our waiter was quite a hottie! It was a little more pricy than I would have like b.c the portions are very small, but hey, it is NYC. I would definitely reccommend it!

    Good food .. fun evening

All the foods we tried at Pipa were very tasty. I would definitely say to get the flatbreads. Apparently the drinks are also a lot stronger than you realize. I will definitely return, and think Pipa would be a great place for a small to large group. The service leaves much to be desired, but don't most places?

    Good Date Spot

I'm a guy and I've quickly learned that every single woman I have taken to this place absolutely loves it. The atmosphere is pretty good if you're looking for a 1 on 1 date. If you like tapas, the portions and quality of food are better than decent, but nothing out of this world. The service is decent as wellbut it's a great place to get wine, sangria, etc.

Cant wait to go back time after time

I have been to Pipa a few times, everytime i go i realize why its my favorite resuturant. The Piggy Back Dates are amazing.l am not a fan dates in real life but i absolutly love this dish. the Sangria will knock your socks off if your not careful. I have had nothing but great meals over and over at Pipa. Its romantic enough to have a dinner for 2 but i can still go there with the girls and fabulous night. The reservation desk is accomidating when i had a birthday dinner party of 14 that just seemed to grow and grow. Pipa is one of NYC hidden gems. Its one of those places you want to tell everyone about becuase its so good but you also want to keep it to your self so you can always get a reeservation.

    nothing here except the decor

I went to pipa last week and was really excited when i walked in the door, and then the hostess opened her mouth. She was rude, and did not have any reason to be. anyway, the decor was really cool (tons chandeliers hanging from the ceiling, all for sale of course) and as i waited for my table everything that walked past me looked and smelled amazing. it took us a while to make our choices because everything on the menu sounded really good. we finally chose four different tapas (a cheese tray, chicken skewers, shrimp croquets, and some egg thing) which our rude waiter (yes the waiter was rude also) said were good choices. this was not the case. i filled up on cheese and left disappointed. if i ever go back, it will be to get a drink at the bar and thats it. the bartender was very helpful and allowed me to taste some of their wine selections before i made my final choice.

    good tapas

I just went to Pipa for my second time. The first was last winter. I'd been wanting to return becuase I enjoyed the food so much the first time. The food was just as good the second time. I also rememebered it being very loud the first time, that was true again this time. I don't know that I would run back anytime soon. While the food is good the noise level is distracting. I also found the service to be lacking. While not terrible we sat with empty glasses for most of the end of our meal. It wasn't until we finally flagged down a bus boy were our water glasses refilled. If you want good tapas, this place has it. If you want a peacefull meal, this isn't a good choice. and if mediocore service gets to you I'd probably pick another restaurant.
