I saw this place in a guidebook, and figured I'd check it out. I was disappointd - the wait staff was very friendly, helpful, and attentive. However, the pizza was lukewarm, soggy (not in the good way), and just flat-tasting. There are better pizza joints all around Manhattan at half the price. Also, there are no free refiills (soda is served in cans) which I found inconvenient. Bottom line - good service alone does not a good restaurant make.

Pizza is excellent! So authentic that my friend who I recommended it to went and had someone in his party order a peperoni pizza and they were served what in italy is an unusual pizza, and is actually pizza with roasted peppers. The quattro formaggi is excellent as are a couple others whose names esape me. Buon appetito.

I finally found a place that has good Authentic Italian Pizza close to my new home and at affordable prices. Unlike other places, piola is incredibly cheap for its quality. I don't agree though it's the best pizza in NY... if you want to spend the extra bucks Luzzo's is better!

Not doubt about it, the pizza here is very good. I've been several times and have enjoyed the food. Unfortunately, the restaurant has a bewildering "policy" of rounding up the bill and, thus, shortchanging you if you pay with cash. I didn't make a big deal out of it the first time (because the pizza was so good), but after asking about this on a return visit, I got nothing but argument from the manager. I didn't like his attitude and I won't be back. There are a hundred places to get good pizza in NYC.

I have to say, we love piola, we would pretty much happily go there morning noon and night and we pretty much do! Aside from the delicious pizza and some of the best cocktails in the city the staff are fantastic! Welcoming, helpful and so friendly its one of the few places I would happily go to eat alone. Piola we love you!

We discovered Piola on our visit to Buenos Aires, Argentina. My kids didn't want to go anywhere else to eat. I looked this place up in NYC. Best pasta we ever had. Smoked salmon is my favorite. Ciao and Bon Appetite!!

I think the previous reviewer prefers Dominos because this place is great. Authentic style to the Pizza's in Italy, I highly recommend
