Not worth the price or the patience

Went there for dinner the other night. The service was poor. There is no communication between any of the staff so when we asked for anything it took forever. The waiter was extremely rude and I was kicked bus the busboy twice without an apology either time! Definitely will not go back again.

    Cliffhanger

My boyfriend and I are going tonight with a couple of friends who frequent this restaurant. I hope it is as good as I understand we need more good eateries in the neighborhood. I will let you know tomorrow...

    Best Chicken on the UWS

Their slow cooked, rotisserie chicken is head and above its competition (even better than the beloved Malecon on 97th). The portions are very generous (one chicken and one avocado salad can serve two people), and their prices are very fair. As some have pointed out, the restaurant gets very busy during the night, but if you go between 5-6 pm you should have no problem getting a seat. BTW, the servers have always been very friendly and attentive.

    Poor delivery

    They have delivery!

Guys, the place has the best Peruvian/Colombian chicken in the area. However, this place does not have a free seat available any night I have ever wanted to eat there. The wait times are long, the staff can be at times rude. My answer is simply skip all of that and call from the convenience of home. I order a whole chicken and their incredible sides for delivery every other weekend. The delivery time has been as little as 10 minutes, and I am 10 blocks away. Incredible! Food is always great and hot. I think they take my order from those sitting at the restaurant waiting for the same meal!! Well, you have been warned. The food is so good it does not matter where I eat it.

    Best Peruvian on UWS

I don't agree with many of the other reviews. The food (including the Chicken Pio, the sides and apps, and big entrees) are unbelievable! My husband and I bring friends and visitors all the time. Sure it's not a quiet, snobby, decorated-to-the-hilt restaurant, but that's what we LIKE about it. The combination of conversations and music provide a lively buzz throughout the meal..and did I mention that the dishes are huge and delicious?

    Good food - bad environment

We have eaten here several times. The food is excellent. Unfortunately, the ambience leaves much to be desired. One is hurried through the meal and expelled from one's table as soon as one has finished eating and even before if there are customers waiting. Furthermore, the noise in the restaurant often precludes conversation. Part of this is that the music is too loud and people have to speak over it, leading to a positive feedback system that generates an intolerable din. It is a great pity that the good food is offset by these negative features.
