We went here tonight and it was a very lively atmosphere. Food was fresh and our meals were delicious. Avocado salad and sea bass dish were really good. The chicken pio pio is enough food for 2-3 people. Overall, we had a good meal and we recommend this neighborhood restaurant.

I ordered a whole chicken from Pio Pio tonight. It was cold and gross when it arrived and all the green sauce had leaked out of the container and there was chicken juice all over the bag. The chicken wasn't good at all. I can make better chicken at home. The place has gone downhill when it comes to delivery...I can't speak for eating in though.

Okay anyone who lives in NYC knows that it's not easy to find a delicious, hearty meal for under $20. Pio Pio is great food (I've tried everything from the chicken to the shrimp, the maduros to the ceviche) Is it the highest "quality" food? No, but it's delicious, flavorful and fun. You can drink a pitcher of sangria, split a ton of food and you won't walk out feeling guilty about spending a ton of money. The service is slow, but friendly and laid back. Just go, enjoy and if you love good Spanish food, you'll be a happy camper.

Service was poor and food was disappointing having been in Peru this year.

This is a scrumptious eatery! Though the prices have gone up a bit since it opened, the chicken is still sublime. The other dishes (lomo saltado, fried rice, etc.) are also excellent, and they make a killer sangria. The matador combo is enough food for 3+ people: a whole chicken with 5 sides!

At exactly 11:00 they turned on the bright lights and told us they were closing. We were almost done eating & were planning on dessert & coffee - but they said no no too late, and they rushed us out & made us feel guilty for keeping them there. That put a damper on the whole experience, but I really did like the food & atmosphere, so I'd go back, but would plan to get there earlier.
