Not recommended
A friend recommended this place...needless to say, we are no longer friends. The pizza had NO taste...not enough sauce, not enough cheese, and honestly tasted like what I imagine cardboard to be like. And who knew that pepperoni could taste bad? The one and only good thing was that the girl who answered the phone was polite. Unfortunately, her politeness couldn't erase the bad taste left in my mouth.

Good food, great heart
I stopped in here tonight as I was returning home from a long day of work. I was heartened by the atmosphere... nice decorations, friendly workers... although there were no customers sitting at the tables (it was 8 pm). I took home two slices, and one was out of this world amazing - it had ham, sauteed onions, asparagus, and a few more items I can't remember. The other was a tomato slice with no cheese - it was fair but I added salt when I sat to eat it at home. I actually was really, really relaxed while I was in there, and that's rare for me to say about a place that I'm stopping into on the way home from work. It was lovely. Go, I say, go. :) Hope this helps!

Spend your money elsewhere
This pizza is just not good. The sauce is bitter, the crust chewy and the toppings are out of a jar. If you want to spend $23 for poor pizza then this is the place for you.

The sweetest staff and slices to die for
Pintailes has been around for many years, which most people would recognize as an achievement in New York City. It's always jammed packed with people at lunch time, Therefore, you know it's got to be good. However, this pizza isn't for everyone. It's a thin crust pizza with a whole wheat crust and gourmet toppings, salty and yummy. This isn't your standard cheap New York pizza, and some people won't love it. The staff are kind and hard working people, although, as with any people, you need to treat them like humans to be treated nicely in return. They move fast and crank out pizzas at an amazing pace. On holidays, they decorate the pizzas with mozzarella cutouts, like hearts for Valentines day, or pumpkins for Halloween. I've never had an issue with a slice (IE, them getting my order wrong or burning it) and their deliveries always arrive quickly with the pizza intact. If you have custom requests, IE: "will you cut up the slice for my child?", "Can I have some extra cheese?" or "Can you leave it in the oven so the crust gets a little char?" They'll happily oblige. I've seen people ask these kinds of things all the time. Although the restaurant is small, it's a nice place to sit on a spring afternoon with friends, eating a snack. I love Pintailes, and I used to have a slice there every day from middle school until I went to off to college. I miss them so much! So, go have a slice for my sake, and enjoy it :3

Nasty Staff
While the food is good, the staff is quite nasty. I was there with my son, and asked the woman behind the counter if the volume on the radio could be turned down as my young son was sensitive to loud noises. She refused, saying "its for the other customers"; there was at the time one other customer who left approximately 2 minutes after my request. Even when we were the only customers in the place, she continued to refuse to turn down the radio.

Best Pizza in the WORLD
This is by FAR the best pizza you will ever taste. EVER. I have been eating here since i was little and this place just is my home away from home. the atmosphere is small and cozy and the pizza is fresh, healthy, and delicious! The service is friendly too. The value has gone up, but only because of the high priced ingredients. You will NOT regret eating here. Bon Appetit!

Great pizza - delicious whole wheat crust!
My favorite pizza in NYC, hands-down. Better than Two Boots. My 6-yr-old son LOVES it, my husband does too. I've had whole wheat crust at other places that was no good. Here, the WW crust is thin, crispy and delicious. I've had friends not know that it was WW! They use FRESH homemade mozzarella on all pies, so the pizza is never greasy -- no cheese grease dripping off. Their Classic pie has FRESH mozzarella and plum tomato slices instead of sauce - this one's my favorite. Salamino is also fantastic (has 'air dried hot capicola' on top - thin-slices, a little spicy, delicioso!) , we also like the 'Shrooms' (three kinds of wild mushrooms - real mushrooms, not canned!) and the Veggie. I know I'm gushing (over pizza) but I assure you, this is a real review by a real customer of 8 years. (Added bonus: Fast delivery.) BTW, I'm reviewing the restaurant on York Ave (83rd/84th); I've heard the pizza on 91st St. isn't as good, but I've never gone there myself so aren't sure about that.
