Everyone has different palates
I personally enjoy pinkberry original. I don't think it's any less compared to other stores. They all come from Taylor ice cream machines so there shouldn't be such big difference in texture. Granted that Pinkberry is pricey for what it's worth and feel like you're paying extra for the hip and trendy atmosphere. But there's a reason why they were so successful. Also, the medium size isn't as small as you think. Have one and you'll be full. It depends on personal opinion, but their original recipe does live upto the hype I believe. I usually get mine plain with nothing on it. But is it worth 4 bucks for a handful of yogurt? That's a different question. Their green tea flavor and coffee flavor are not that tasty in my opinion. And there are too many topping choices. And yes, the atmosphere is lite, pretty, cute, fun, trendy and all that. But sometimes I think it's over the top. I mean, sometimes I think customers are here just to say that they're in pinkberry, and that's exactly what the creators of pinkberry were going for: An ultra trendy place where you can hang out and have a lite snack. But I don't know, I'm not a girl so maybe I don't get the whole scene. The customers are predominantly female, and the store is designed to attract females. The service is good, but many times there would be a line forming and you don't get to get extra service because the employees are so busy running around taking orders and making yogurt. So on a slow day, their service is excellent, but Pinkberry never has a slow day, and you'd never get to experience it.

Medium cup =small cup portion.
Great design of space but the menu is hard to read as you stand in front of cashier. The flavor selection is not even posted on the wall menu. Instead it is a small menu stand as you get up to the cashier and you have to read it fast which makes you feel RUSH and uncomfortable. I order a medium cup and the portion looks small as if it should be put into a small cup. The yogurt was more icy than smooth. Not worth the money for what you get. Another yogurt store on the northwest corner of 22nd and 3rd is much better.

Not the best
Pinkberry is a hip place specializing in frozen yogurt. There's not much yogurt choices, but there are quite a few toppings. It's not very tasty...but definitely appealing because of its surroundings, music, etc. The atmosphere is a bit loud, though, and the food is pretty pricey. Yogurt is $2.95 for plain, and 95 cents for additional toppings.
