    Love it and recommend it!

The pistachio cheesecake is life-changing, and the pistachio cupcake is a close runner-up. I've had various "famous" cupcakes in NYC, and they just don't compare to this place.

Cute little bakery, pleasant staff, subpar cupcakes

Came into Manhattan last weekend for a little getaway with my husband since we love to walk the city. Decided to do a cupcake tasting day as we walked. So far I have tried 6 places, with more on the list for next time. I had a white cupcake at Pinisi with sprinkles on top, and I'm sorry to report that it was quite unpleasant. My husband agreed. The consistency was not right, it was lacking in flavor and the frosting was much too whipped. We ended up tossing most of it. Unfortunately, it was also expensive.

    Try the Red Velvet Cupcakes!

We are Red Velvet Cupcake fans, but only a few places make them right. Pinisi is one of them - they are moist, delicous, and the frosting is so yummy. We'll be back for more! :)

    Excellent cake

I am very picky about cake, and when tasked with getting a birthday cake for a serious chocolate lover, I worried about whether I could find a bakery up to standard. I find that cake at even the most glorified bakeries in the city is generally dry and lacking flavor (come onif you are going to eat all those calories, the cake better be delicious to make it worth it!). I called Pinisi and wasn't a fan of their standard menu of cakes but found out that their baker would make anything I wanted. I described the type of cake & icing that I like (cake should be super moist & chocolatey....icing/filling should not be too sweet it should be fudgey and creamy)and the baker made exactly what I had described. The cake was perfectly moist and richbeautifully executed! Everyone at the birthday party was shocked by how good the cake was. I highly recommend getting all future birthday cakes from Pinisi. The staff is incredibly friendly, accomodating, and talented. They will make a delicious cake suited perfectly to your taste.

    Nice bakery

I am living in this neighbor, and go to Pinisi to get all the time for cakes and cookies. Never disappointed by anything here. But I am sorry, haven't tried their coffee, so can't mention it. I

will never go to Dunkin Donuts again!

I live down the street and work around the corner from this pace. As a newbie to NYC, I stuck to the usual places and found the local cafes overpriced and packed with people. Then, as I passed Pinisi, I smelled the baked goods and walked right in. I'm a regular now, and the staff is always friendly -- warm smiles and genuinely attentive. Coffee is great and cheap. A large coffee will run you 1.25. I know they're known for red velvet, but try an apple crumble muffin (1.50) made with fresh apple slices baked right into it. Never tasted anything like it :-) Also, I love the chocholate-cheese muffin! It's like a choco muffin with a cheesecake swirl baked through it.
