Pinche Taqueria was established in 1973 on a tiny street in Tijuana. Locals have made Pinche one of the busiest taquerias in all of Mexico a place where friends meet to discuss the week over authentic tacos and unwind with a fresh horchata or cold cerveza. Now we invite you to our newest location in Nolita. Our kitchen and dining room were trucked from the Sa Ysidro border across the United States to 333 Lafayette St NYC. We believe in using only the freshest products and ingredients from our organic produce, spices, meats, lin-caught mahi-mahi ad ocean-caught shrimp to the salsas and sauces made from scratch in our kitchen. There are no canned foods, frozen foods or microwaves at Pinche. We make each taco on our authentic mesquite charcoal grill with love and a smile. We are happy to be here and hope you enjoy our little taco shack. Muchas Gracias!

Not recommended
The pork was reeeeeally unappetizing. I don't know how you can ruin a tortilla, pork, guacamole and beans combination.

Are they serious with the guac?
We were willing to give a new mexican place a chance. The reviews on Pinche looked promising -after ordering a burrito, chips and guac, I'm not sure WHAT these people were smoking when they left these reviews. The chicken burrito was all beans, the chips were near stale and the guac was something I'd buy from a plant oin Nebraska. Service was no good. My boyfriend was put on hold for almost 5 minutes when calling to order around 9pm - he finally hung up and called back. Then, when calling to confirm that we received the right quantity of guacamole - because no good Mexican restaurant would dare charge for what we received - he was rudely told that yes, that is what we ordered and that is what we get. Very disappointed and will not be ordering again.

Finally!
Coming from Colorado years ago it's taken me a long time to find anyplace in the city that actually makes real Horchata! The food's excellent, everyone's nice as hell and you can't beat it. For a city that really has everything I can't believe it took me this long to find good Mexican food.

Tastes like home
I moved here from San Diego 10 years ago and miss nothing more than good Baja Mexican Food. This place is the best in the city. The fish tacos are authentic and the "California" bean and cheese burrito is simply perfect - flakey warm flour tortilla, pinto beans and cheese, classic. You can certainly get better in Tijuana, but not here in Manhattan. Their horchata is lovely as well. Now will someone please open a Rubios on the Upper East Side?

Portions are Absurdly Small!
The food at Pinche tastes good. It's fresh and made fast. There's nothing particularly authentic or amazing about it, but fresh & freshly made food are both pluses to me. The portions however, are another story! Burritos are a decent size, and the pinche taco salad is okay too. However, the shell is always dripping with grease and has no flavor and there's about half a teaspon of guac on top. The tostada and tacos are a total joke. There is barely any filling on either of them, just lettuce and tomatoes on the tostada - for $7!! Unless they beef up the portions, I wont be going back!

Awesome Tacos
These tacos are some of the only decent options in NY, and this place surely has the City's best fish tacos. Problem is I can easily eat 5 as they are small, so a meal here gets close to 20 bucks without a drink. It is open late so grab a pork and a fish if you are in the area and I think you will agree that they are amazing.
