We went last night for my friend's birthday. When the waiter came to take our order it was revealed that a good chunk of the menu was unavailable, including the entire special board. My friends had read about a lobster pot promoted on their website and ordered that. I ordered the steak, as I didn't want seafood and there were only 2 non-seafood dishes (other than salad and sides) left after all the things they don't have were listed. After taking my order, it turned out they also didn't have the steak. I was brought luke warm clam chowder that tasted disgusting. I had to ask three people to get a spoon to eat it. The french fries were borderline inedibly salty. The lobster pot did not include the blue crab that the website promises and when asked the manager said that we were wrong but now I've checked the website and he was wrong. Furthermore the lobster pot included only half a lobster and no crab so $30 seems steep. Cute decor, friendly waiter but the service, the food, and the value were very bad.

decided go to for dinner with some friends and we were all pleasantly surprised at how good this place was!! Scallops were some of the best I've ever had (very fresh!) I've since been back numerous times and have never been disappointed. Definitely a place I will return to over and over again!!

On Saturday night I went to Pier 9 with my parent's and fiance to celebrate my Dad's 60th and my fiance's 30th birthdays. I picked Pier 9 because I know my dad loves seafood and is sometimes difficult to please. The moment we arrived we were warmly greeted and shown to our table in the beautiful back area of the restaurant. We began with a bottle of Chilean Sauv. Blanc which was chilled to perfection. We then proceeded to order Lobster Mac and Cheese , Shrimp Taco's and mussels.......All three appetizers were delicious. We chose the day boat scallops, hallibut, tuna and swordfish for our entree's and each dish in presentation and flavor were flawless. I ordered a side dish of the roasted corn and was pleased that there were four of them so we could each enjoy our own. For desert we had the salted carmel crispy treat which was beyond words. In all the meal was fantastic, the staff was attentive but not over bearing and the ambiance was beautiful. My parents don't live in the city but told me that because of the dining experience at Pier 9 it was well worth the trip and they couldn't wait to go back again. Of course living in NYC, we'd be more than happy to join them.

Ate dinner here last night and it was delicious. Scallops were perfect and it was a nice sized portion. My husband had the horseradish crusted salmon and it was also delicious. The Pier 9 Salad was very good - and very large. I have dietary restrictions and they were very accomodating. Delicious food, generous portions, Very attentive and friendly service. And this is the only good seafood place in the neighborhood. A winner!

Pier 9, formerly agua dulce, was a disappointment. I ordered the steak and eggs, medium, and it came grey, dry and unappetizing. I didn't even have to tell the waiter. When he came to check on us, he immediately took the plate away and said that it was overcooked. I couldn't believe they served this cut of meat. They brought me another steak, which was just ok. Overall, not recommended. Oh, and my friend ordered the lobster benedict and could not find the lobster.

i love lobster. adore it. wish i lived in maine so i could eat it all the time. thankfully, pier 9 opened and it feels like maine came to me. lobster bisque, mac n cheese, cocktail, hot dog, roll... i cant get enough! my date had other dishes as he is not a fan of lobster (huge oysters, thick creamy clam chowder, steamed mussels) and he said everything was spot on terrific. and to make it better, the service was just right - no hovering, but water was filled immediately and when i dropped my fork, it was replaced with the speed of a race horse. i think i just found my new hot spot in the city. (ps - the drink list is out of this world! love the water coast theme).
