Picc-olo someplace else
They are obviously reheating frozen food they bought from a distributor. What a waste of a good corner location in the Gramercy area! Value is also poor. The owner of this place obviously operates the pseudo-french place next door. They seem to survive on tourists /passers-by and girls-night-outers who can neither cook nor taste.

No Value and Poor Service
I placed a delivery order for 2 ceaser salads with grilled chicken. The total came to $32.50 not including tip. The basic ceaser salad is 6.95. They charged over an additional $9.00 for each side of chicken. I called back the restaurant and was told-you are getting a whole breast of chicken and that's the price. If you're going to charge that much-at least cut up the chicken and place it in the salad.

uneven food and service
The shrimp scampi was fair, and the sauce on my gnocchi was delicious, but the gnocchi itself tasted as though it had not been cooked (or as though it had come out of a package). The wine list was short and without any good values. The host was extremely pleasant, but the waiter offered only the most perfunctory service. The upside is that, while everywhere else in a 3 block radius had an hour long waiter (diners excluded) on a Saturday night, we were seated immediately.

mediocre
after reading all of the good reviews, my boyfriend and I decided to try it one sunday night when we were in the mood for some italian....the service was very good from the waitress very attentive and caring but when our food arrived, personally it looked like we were given some frozen dinners on a plate...i mean the appearance of the food didn't even look like the chef tried....no literally the food looked like off a commercial from the 60's for a frozen dinner....but the red snapper I had was exceptional and the wine (sauviogon blanc) bottle was veryyyy tasty...the atmosphere is beautiful and on a warm summer night you have a choice of sitting inside or out which is a definate plus...everything was perfect except not so much the food and especially the way it was presented....so its worth trying. the neighborhood is very quiet but a block away is union sq...enjoy

Good food, terrible service
We live in the neighborhood and were really excited to go here but our Italian waiter turned out to be a huge jerk and virtually non-present. If we could have we would have tipped the bus boy instead of the waiter. The food however was very tasty.

a real restaurant on 3rd
Most places on 3rd between 14 and 23rd are diners, bars or take- out so it is great to have a real place to eat in the neighborhood. The food and the service are good, the place very pleasant and cozy and very important to me, quiet enough to hold a conversation without shouting.. The prices are reasonable and overall a very satisfying experience eating out.
